For this week, we are doing something a little different here at Prism Book Alliance®. We are taking part in the Foster and Author program organized by the great ladies over that Jo and Isa Love Books. Our assigned author is Nic Starr, who we have reviewed here a number of times on Prism Book Alliance®.
Hey there! It’s Nic Starr here. I’m thrilled to be a special guest at Prism Book Alliance for a whole seven days. Yes, SEVEN days! Brandilyn is taking part in a “Foster An Author” initiative, and I was lucky enough to be chosen as her foster-author. Yippee!
So what does being sponsored by Prism mean? Basically, it means that I will be visiting Prism each day with a guest post. Brandilyn has given me free rein, so I can talk about anything. I thought I’d use it as an opportunity to talk a little about myself, and maybe share a bit of the personal stuff, as well as to talk about my writing and books.
For those of you who don’t know me, I’m an author of m/m romance. I write on the sweeter side, with character driven stories and strong happy endings. I started writing in 2013, at the prompting of some fellow m/m authors. At the time, I was a voracious reader of m/m romance, and loved sharing the books I discovered on my blog. Since I started writing, a whole new side of m/m has opened up and I’ve fallen even more in love with the genre. I have so many stories I want to tell, and I enjoy the whole publishing process from beginning to end.
My first stories were released in July 104. They were racing neck and neck to see which one would be the first to be published. The winner was Waiting, Hoping, Wishing, a novella I wrote for the M/M Romance Group’s (on Goodreads) annual event. If you haven’t checked out the event, make sure you do, because there are hundreds of wonderful free reads released each year. You can find more details of my FREE story here (http://bit.ly/1FXqKJU).
Five days later, my first book with Dreamspinner Press was released. The story is called It’s Not Easy and it has a special place in my heart, probably because it was my first contracted story. Check it out here (http://bit.ly/1ZnxKWQ). I have been very blessed to have my first story accepted by Dreamspinner Press, who have gone on to publish another five of my books.
So enough about the books. Let’s talk about me. Actually, I’ve changed my mind. Let’s not. ☺ How about a photo instead? I haven’t shown my face on social media before and, I think I’m terribly un-photogenic, but here goes. cringe
So now that’s out of the way, onto much more exciting things. How about a giveaway? ☺
I’m going to try something a bit different. Since I’ll be here for the next seven days, I’ll post a code word each day. Gather all seven codes words, rearrange them into the correct sentence and email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with your answer. The lucky winner will get an eBook copy of one of my books, plus a $10 Amazon voucher.
Today’s code word is ARE.
See you tomorrow when I talk a bit about my country, Australia.

About the Author
Nic Starr lives in Australia where she tries to squeeze as much into her busy life as possible. Balancing the demands of a corporate career with raising a family and writing can be challenging but she wouldn’t give it up for the world.
Always a reader, the lure of m/m romance was strong and she devoured hundreds of wonderful m/m romance books before eventually realising she had some stories of her own that needed to be told!
When not writing or reading, she loves to spend time with her family-an understanding husband and two beautiful daughters-and is often found indulging in her love of cooking and planning her dream home in the country.
You can find Nic on Facebook, Twitter and her blog. She’d love it if you stopped by to say hi.
