The moment Ashley gave up looking for the right man, fate showed up in the form of restaurateur, Colt Harrison. Sexy never looked this good.
Ashley Willis didn’t think he was interested in joining the dating pool…that is until he catches a look at Colt. The sexy diner owner makes him hot all over and has him thinking all sorts of dirty thoughts. But Ashley has to worry about more than his sex drive—he’s a single dad. What goes on in his life affects his son. Will Ashley play it safe or find the love he deserves with Colt?
Colt’s been happily single for the last few years. He likes his complications to stay at the diner. Then he meets Ashley. The geeky art teacher is everything he’s dreamed of having in his bed. Will the fact that Ashley’s a single father be the deal-breaker or will the naysayers in Cedarwood break up this couple before they get a chance to find love?
I am enjoying this series. I love that each father’s journey to parenthood is unique and often not even remotely traditional. I love how the series ARC is continued and expanded upon in each new book. It works as a great way to tie all the books together and to keep things interesting and moving forward. I love the way I know that in picking up one of these books, I will have an ending that will leave me knowing love will always win and will leave me feeling warm and fuzzy. And I love that the children feature so heavily in the stories and that they are true kids and not just annoying placeholders.
My biggest issue with this book is the same as in the previous two. The romantic relationship is overly simplistic and too quick. Things are designed a bit too perfectly so that the story is forced to follow a very well defined path and outcome. There was not enough time devoted to showing the reader the supposed sexual tension and growing emotions between Ash and Colt. This series has been fun and I will definitely be continuing as new stories are released, but I feel they could benefit from more time spent on relationship development and a bit more showing and less telling.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
