You met Ryder Richardson in Being Sawyer Knight. Now, this is his story.
I’ve done it. I’ve stuck a whopping two fingers up at my parents, I’ve made a name for myself as one of the world’s biggest porn stars and I’ve finally found a family I belong in.
Life is amazing. I get paid to do all my favourite things. Fuck. Party. Travel the world. What’s not to love?
And then he comes along. Mason George – Back Door Studio’s newest exclusive model and the guy who has the potential to either fuck it all up, or take me on the best ride of my life.
I’m desperate. I’ve got nothing and nobody left. Entering the daunting world of adult entertainment is less of a dream and more of a necessity. Signing as Back Door Studio’s latest model has the ability to either ruin or make me, but I made a vow at my first audition never to let myself regret it.
I continue to question myself each day, but no amount of whats, whys or what ifs will change where I am or where I’m heading. Am I strong enough to do this? To embrace it? To enjoy it? I have no idea.
The only thing I’m certain of, is that if anyone can teach me who I’m supposed to be, it’s Ryder Richardson.
“Because the most exciting things in life always happen via the back door”
(M/M erotic romance. Not suitable for under 18’s due to language and explicit sexual situations. *Trigger warning* This book contains scenes of self harm which may act as a trigger for people experiencing similar issues.)
When we last met Ryder in Sawyer’s story he made the jump from hairdresser to porn star and let me tell you…he owned that role! It was a job. It was a job he enjoyed. It was a job he took pride in. It was a job that made him seem to everyone looking in that he was a confident young man with the world at his feet but the reality is very different. He is the epitome of the saying ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’.
Ryder’s past is cruel and will break even the coldest of hearts. He may have gotten himself away but the scars he carries inside keep cutting away at him. Not even his closest friends know the extent of his hurt and he intends for it to stay that way.
Mason has had his fair share of hurt but has also known love. He has hit a brick wall and needs a job to survive. He is quite a mellow young man with a practical outlook on life and given that he enjoys sex he doesn’t think signing for a porn company will give him too many problems. He quickly becomes friends with Ryder at his audition and after Ryder helps him get over a small worry he realises the job is the least of his problems.
This story is made much more interesting and intense being told from both Ryder and Mason’s point of view. Being in Ryders mind is often a scary place to be as his past comes out and you realise just how messed up he is. Poor Mason is left scrambling with ideas of how to help him whilst feeling hurt and confused by his actions but he has never been one to walk away from what he wants or a challenge.
It was hard not to fall for both these characters. I loved Mason’s stubbornness at not giving up and Ryder for facing his past head on regardless of the outcome and certainly the outcome was a lot more than he bargained for! This one’s a feel good and definitely my favourite in the series so far.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
