This isn’t his sister’s Wonderland….

Henry never believed his older sister, Alice’s, fantastic tales about the world down the rabbit hole. When he’s whisked away to the bizarre land, his best chance for escape is to ally himself with the person called the Mad Hatter. Hatter—an odd but strangely attractive fellow—just wants to avoid execution. If that means delivering “Boy Alice” to the Queen of Hearts at her Red Castle, Hatter will do what he has to do to stay alive. It doesn’t matter if Henry and Hatter find each other intolerable. They’re stuck with each other.

Along their journey, Henry and Hatter must confront what they’ve always accepted as truth. As dislike grows into tolerance and something like friendship, the young men see the chance for a closer relationship. But Wonderland is a dangerous place, and first they have to get away with their lives.

My View:

If I could give this one 10 stars I would. This story was fabulous from the amazing cover to the about the author bio. This world was so grand and perfectly in tuned with the many versions of Wonderland. It was beautiful, it was gruesome, it was up, it was down, it was forwards, it was backwards, it repeated itself, but most of all it took itself so seriously in the most unserious manner. Dakota Chase has a winner on her hands with this creative universe.

On top of the fantabulous setting, the supporting characters were crazy and fun. The main characters were likable and a grew as the story moved forward. There were great messages of self worth but these messages were built into the story and were not preachy at all. And the romance was perfect in the fact that there was very little romance at all. It was just enough to feel the connection growing between Hatter and Henry but not so much that it was an adult story. It was all about the connection and nothing about gratuitous sexual education.

I am in love with this story and hope to whatever god you and I both pray to that this becomes an audiobook! I would also LOVE to see this as a graphic novel illustrated by the cover artist himself. Could you imagine the wonder that is wonderland brought to life as storyboard images?
