Flannery Rivers is content to let her sister Harper carry on the family dynasty—at The Rivers hospital w here they both work and on the home front. Now that Harper is settled and soon to be happily married, Flannery can ease back into her life of casual flirtations and find all the excitement she needs in the ER. She’s even got her next playmate all lined up, or so she thinks.
Abigail Remy is a city girl who accepts a position at the imperiled country hospital in the hope of finding a stable, safe community for her teenaged daughter who just announced she’s a he. Unfortunately, when she arrives to work, she discovers the current ER Chief is less than happy to be replaced by a fresh-out-of-residency new comer. Add unexpected attraction to the incendiary mix of city and county, fire and ice, tradition and change—and the prescription is combustible.
Love at Rivers Side
Dr. Abby Remy and her son Blake need to get out of NYC so when her friend Presley offers her a job at The Rivers Hospital as ER Chief she can’t get there fast enough.
Playgirl and hot shot surgeon Flann Rivers Is use to running things in the OR and ER. Unbeknownst to her there was a new chief, let alone any chief and during a trauma is an awkward time to learn these new things.
The women drive each other to distraction despite the fact neither of them wants what the other is offering… right?
I found this to be a really good book. It is so well written and beautiful. I enjoyed watching these women clash and loved it when they would pull rank on each other. I also really loved their relationship develop, it is so sweet when they weren’t fighting.
In a different twist there is a young transgender character who is transitioning. This story line was interesting, educational, tender and VERY well handled.
As with most of Radclyffe’s stories, the lovemaking was intense and sexy. I adore Radclyffe’s series and this one in particular. I do so hope there will be a few more books in The Rivers line.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
