Finding Mr. Right can be a snow lot of fun.
Minnesota Christmas, Book 3
Paul Jansen was the only one of his friends who wanted a relationship. Naturally, he’s the last single man standing. No gay man within a fifty-mile radius wants more than casual sex.
No one, that is, except too-young, too-twinky Kyle Parks, who sends him suggestive texts and leaves X-rated snow sculptures on his front porch.
Kyle is tired of being the town’s resident Peter Pan. He’s twenty-five, not ten, and despite his effeminate appearance, he’s nothing but the boss in bed. He’s loved Paul since forever, and this Christmas, since they’re both working on the Winter Wonderland festival, he might finally get his chance for a holiday romance.
But Paul comes with baggage. His ultra-conservative family wants him paired up with a woman, not a man with Logan’s rainbow connection. When their anti-LGBT crusade spills beyond managing Paul’s love life and threatens the holiday festival, Kyle and Paul must fight for everyone’s happily ever after, including their own.
Contains erotic snow art, toppy twinks, and super-sweet holiday moments. Best savored with a mug of hot chocolate with a dash of spice.
So this review is going to be a bit different. I have so many good things to say about this story but I am going to focus on the publisher’s warning (plus two other items) because I feel that it perfectly sums up my thoughts.
Warning: Contains erotic snow art, toppy twinks, and super-sweet holiday moments.
- Erotic snow art provided humor and a clever way to get these men together. It was very creative and was a wonderful outlet for Kyle and a great way to pull everyone and everything together. It displayed his artistic nature as well as his unconditional love for those around him.
- Toppy twinks made for some smexy times and Heidi Cullinan is the master at giving us kinky, dirty sex scenes that display more love and connection than most authors can display in an entire novel.
- Super-sweet holiday moments brought out my Christmas spirit and is what I would consider the hallmark of this series. For all its manliness, sexiness, tough topics, it is the sweet romance that gets me every single time! Again Heidi Cullinan is a master craftswoman. She seems to effortlessly give us damaged and meaningful characters full of baggage and history while still managing to focus the reader on hope and happiness.
Now for the first of my other and most important point. I LOVED LOVED LOVED that Linda Kay, Kyle’s twin sister who has Down Syndrome was NOT the angst in the story at all. She and her disability were treated as just another part of life, which all mental disabilities are! Her mental status was treated as nothing other than a thing to adapt to and learn about. She was treated with the respect she deserved! Thank you Heidi for including the ugly parts of life that most people don’t want to acknowledge!
The last item I want to focus on is the way this particular author is so great about highlighting that family is what and who you make it.. Family is important to everyone, but as with many of her stories, Ms. Cullinan is the master at showing the reader that Blood means NOTHING, action means EVERYTHING. I love the wonderful message this sends to those who are struggling to fit in with their blood family to the detriment of their own happiness and well being.
Winter Wonderland was another fantastic addition to this series and my collection of Heidi Cullinan titles. She is one of my favorite authors because she is so adept at creating stories that are rich, emotional, dark, and dirty, while being equally hopeful and endearing. She has created some of my favorite and most memorable characters and I will be re-reading this title along with many of her others.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
