What would you give up for love?

Raziel Slade and Jack Hastings have been best friends since Raz saved Jack’s life twelve years ago. Jack has spent years searching for the perfect woman with the help of his wingman, Raz, the man he thinks of as his guardian angel. At a company Christmas party, the world Jack thought he knew turns on its axis, and feelings he didn’t know he had punch him right between the eyes. Can Jack learn to see his friend in an entirely different way?

Openly gay, Raz loves his best friend and has given up more than Jack will ever know to be with him, but he’s never dared to tell Jack how he truly feels, or to reveal his true identity. For twelve years, he has waited in the wings.

Now, with Jack’s sudden epiphany, can these two best friends work out if they have a future together?

In Praise of Brussel Sprouts

In Praise of Brussel Sprouts

I’m just going to come out and say it in big bold capitals – I LOVE BRUSSEL SPROUTS. In fact I’ll eat them all year round and not just at Christmas. I like them with a little salt and often mix them with swede and gravy. I’m also one of those strange people who likes them to be well done and squishy. I’ve had them fried with bacon lardons as well and they are wonderful in bubble and squeak.
Many children grow up not eating vegetables. As a child I was never fed baby food just mashed up adult food and I ate my veg like a good girl. I loved Sunday lunch and I still do. I’d eat Christmas dinner every day, I love it so much. When I was a teenager, my Dad used to grow sprouts on his allotment. I’ve always been surprised that people don’t know they grow on stalks and not like mini cabbages.
Of course, as well as tasting great Brussel sprouts are good for you.
1. One serving would meet your needs for vitamin C and vitamin K for the day.
2. Brussels sprouts supply loads of nutrients for a small amount calories.
3. In Chinese medicine, they are prescribed to help with digestion.
4. Brussels sprouts are able to provide special nutrient support for the body’s detox system, antioxidant system, and inflammatory/anti-inflammatory system.
So don’t exclude Brussel sprouts from your Christmas dinner this year. Try frying them with bacon or chestnuts for something different if you can’t face them on their own. Me, I’ll be having lots as usual.

Excerpt

“Who would you sleep with? Iron Man or Captain America?”

Surprised for a moment, Raz had to work out what to say. “Umm, do I have to choose? Why not both? That’s a sandwich I’d like to be in the middle of.”

Jack stared at the kittens. “Have you ever done that? Been in a threesome?”

Raz laughed. “Fantasy only. Now, before this conversation gets too pornographic, are you going to tell me what’s been up with you, because I don’t believe the work bullshit.”

“Do you have any other fantasies?” Jack asked, finally lifting his head to gaze at Raz.

“Doesn’t everyone? What’s with the twenty questions? Did you drink more than me tonight?”

“That’s my Raziel. Always trying to take care of me. I’m not your responsibility, you know.”

Yes, you are.

“I know what they say about when you save someone from certain death—like you saved me from being hit by the lorry—that you’re responsible for them for the rest of their lives, but you really aren’t.”

Yes, I am, Jack. I’ll always be responsible for you. It’s my punishment. That’s how it works. I made the choice and didn’t let you die.

  1. Brussel sprouts…my worst enemies, lol. My brother loves them though and sneaks them into any food he makes. Thank you for the post and giveaway chance.

  2. You don’t have to convince me about Brussel sprouts… I quite like them, as everything veggie… I’m not officially a Vegan, but almost there. LOL
