North Pole City Tales: Book Four
From North Pole City to Winter Wonderland, preparations are underway after a royal announcement sweeps everyone into a frenzy of festivity. At the heart of the celebration are the city’s most beloved elf pilots, the Rein Dears. Once the Big Flight is behind them, the pilots prepare for the royal event. Assigned a special task of finding an Elska rose, Cupid and Blitzen are unaware of how their friendship is about to change forever.
Yet not all that glitters is gold. The sweet, angelic Cupid hides a dark secret, one that threatens to destroy his Rein Dear status, his friends, and the elf who’s captured his heart. It’s up to Blitzen to help Cupid see the light in the darkness and show him that together they can mend broken hearts.
One thing I look forward to each Christmas is the latest installment in Charlie Cochet’s North Pole City series. I adore her take on the North Pole mythos. I love getting to know the Rein Dears, Frosts, and all those in their orbits.
This year, we get to see Blitzen and Cupid find love with each other. In this version of the North Pole, they are best friends. Cupid has been harboring feelings for Blitz for a long time, even if he hid them away as deep as possible. Blitz, on the other hand… not so much. Of course, that all changes one day.
We also get to see a little bit of the darker side of the North Pole again. We revisit the reasons behind Rudy’s crash in Heart of Frost. We see Rudy and Jack’s love grow stronger in addition to seeing it bloom between Cupid and Blitz.
Cupid and Blitz are perfect together. I love the loyalty Blitz shows to Cupid, even when others are turning away. I love the comfort Cupid takes from Blitz when he needs it. They are just two pieces of a whole.
As ever, I am looking forward to next year’s visit to North Pole City.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
