Blake Morin, after spending years as a SEAL, lives a quiet life with his daughter and he’s fine with that. He can’t deny the attraction between him and Sam, but is he ready to enter the world he used to avoid?

Megan Linden on Serve & Protect (D.C. Files #1)

First of all, happy holidays!

Wow, how the time flies. I barely got used to 2015 and now we’re almost done with it!

But at this time of the year, I reflect on what was and what I want to accomplish in the new year. I always have a lot of ideas and it’s a matter of deciding what’s the most important to me and what can fall into the background. I’ve learned that trying to accomplish everything is not the best strategy. Who would’ve thought, right?

I wasn’t one for New Year’s resolutions until a few years ago I’ve heard someone say, “I don’t do resolutions, I do plans”. And I liked that. It wasn’t about a dream, an unspecific idea, but it was about having a plan and executing it. Ever since then, I do have a plan for the new year.

In 2015, one of the things in my plan was to see Serve & Protect out. It’s a book very special to my heart, since it’s the first m/m book I’ve ever started. It isn’t the first one I’ve finished and it’s the third one published, but it still has that feel of being somehow the first in my mind.
Serve & Protect is also the first one in the series, D.C. Files, that’s about falling in love in the heart of politics – Washington, D.C. Let me tell you, my love of The West Wing is showing!

In 2015, two more books in the series came out – Trust & Confidence (#2) and Cherish & Give (#1.5). That first one can be read as a stand-alone and the second is a Christmas story about Sam and Blake, the main couple of Serve & Protect, and should be read after reading S&P.

In 2016, I hope to have more books in the series out. The start of the year marks the beginning of a new series from me, too. I have so many plans, not all of them writing-related, but I’m excited about all of them.

And how about you? What makes you excited about upcoming year? Please share in the comments!

About the Author

Megan is one of those people who dreamed of being a writer since they were a little kid and then didn’t do anything about it for years. Then as a teenager she was introduced to fandom and… well. She fell head first into it and never looked back. At some point she decided to try writing her own characters in her own stories. And that’s where she is today.

When she’s not writing, Megan works as a psychologist and continues to learn the hard way that she can’t give all her clients their happy ending (she truly believes everyone can save themselves, though). That’s why she makes sure to give it to her characters, always.

She loves tv shows, books, fanworks, and pizza (not necessarily in that order).

  1. Congratulations on the new release! What makes me excited about the upcoming year is the possibility of a trip to Paris with one of my friends. I went there last year and we had a lot of fun. I’m looking forward to repeating the experience!
