Happy 2016 to you all! I have done something I almost never do and that’s make myself a writing schedule for the year. Eep! I guess I’m feeling pretty good about the amount of time I’m going to be able to devote to my writing. I usually don’t make schedules, I let the stories just sort of come to me. That’s all well and good and a free-spirit kind of attitude (“I don’t run my life by schedules, bro”), but it doesn’t really help get the writing done.
So this year I’m going to try my best to stick to a writing/completion schedule. And what better way to hold myself to a writing schedule than to share it with others? Here then is a list of projects and tentative dates. Let’s make 2016 the year of new stories, shall we?
First – I literally just submitted the third book of my Critter Catchers series to my amazing editor Jerry at Wilde City Press. The second book of the series, Chasing the Chupacabra, should be coming out sometime in the first quarter of 2016, so hopefully this one will be out around the end of the year. That depends on WCP’s publishing schedule, of course.
A Town of Superstition Story – Book Three – my YA fantasy gay romance series. The first draft is scheduled to completed by the end of February, and hopefully submitted before the end of March. The second book of the series, The Well of Tears, is due to be released in June of this year.
Choked Up: Up to Trouble Book Four – It’s been a few years since Mark Beecher and FBI Special Agent Aaron Pearce lived through a pretty horrible trip to Barbados in Roughed Up: Up to Trouble Book Three, and I’ve been approached by a few fans to continue the series. Well, this May the rights to that book will revert back to me and I’ll self-publish it with a new cover and a new edit. Before then, I plan to write a fourth book, tentatively titled Choked Up, that brings Pearce and Mark back to Detroit to wrap up some loose ends. I’m hoping to have the first draft of this book completed by the end of April. I plan at least one more book in this series, and have just released the first two books, Holed Up and Shacked Up, as single e-books and also in a combined paperback.
Critter Catchers Book Four – Demetrius and Cody face down another paranormal creature as they work through some issues of their own. I’m hoping to have the first draft of this book completed by the end of June.
A Town of Superstition Story – Book Four – another book in my YA fantasy gay romance series. I hope to have a first draft of this story finished by the end of September.
Untitled gay romance – I’ve started and stopped this story several times over the last two years and am determined to get a first draft written by the end of the year. This story revolves around two damaged men and a pack of feral cats, and that’s about all I’m going to say about it.
Okay, that covers it. That’s a lot of words to get onto glass, but I’m determined to up my output this year. I hope you’ll come along for the ride. What kind of plans do you have for 2016?
