Sometimes the one you want is the one you least suspect…
Accountant Samantha Ennis craves order and structure. As the bookkeeper at the boutique advertising agency she owns with her three best friends, it’s her job to apply logic to the chaos. When one of those best friends, laid back Hunter Blair, moves in to share her loft apartment, Sam’s carefully organized world is thrown wildly askew.
Hunter Blair’s been the coolest one in the room since elementary school. Until recently, her biggest worry in the world was which of the girls in her cell phone to call on a Saturday night. But it’s not long before Samantha sparks a fire in Hunter that has her questioning her old habits and longing for new ones.
Isn’t it a bad idea to fall for one of your best friends? Samantha and Hunter are about to find out.
The Girls of Savvy
The four ladies of Soho Savvy are back. Brooklyn is moving in with Jessica and Hunter is moving in with Samantha, who has just broken up with her girlfriend. The rent has been raised and their biggest clients are on the verge of bankruptcy. Just a normal week in New York. When Hunter sees Sam feeling really down on herself she reveals a secret she has kept since college…. This is their story.
I can totally relate to Samantha. Always the dependable one that everyone turns to. She is never able to see how special she is. Shes not edgy or flashy or “cool”, nothing overly special or extra ordinary to her way of thinking, Just down to earth and genuine. Its nice to read about a character like that. A hero for the every day gal. If only she was a bit over weight too…. I liked watching find her own self-worth, strength and to be able to accept herself just as she is. She is able to see past her insecurities to fight for what she desires and deserves.
Hunter has a lot of depth too, just not many people are allowed in far enough to see it. She isn’t just an exotic beauty play girl. She has a shy and scared side with her own insecurities. She longs for acceptance from her father even if she wont admit it. In spite of her fast and loose facade she really just needs someone to love her and see who she really is.
Eve though this story focused on Hunter and Sam it was really good to spend time with Mallory, Brooklyn and Jessica too. I can’t wait to see what the future holds in store for Mallory.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
