When psychic Nate Coleman dreams of a murder, he knows it’s a premonition. He can’t forget the image of his ex-lover with a bullet hole through his chest. Nate has no choice but to confront William and face the skeptical scientist’s ridicule.
Dr. William Ryner doesn’t believe in what he can’t prove. When Nate comes back into his life, it’s not to rekindle their love, but to bring up more of that mumbo jumbo that split them apart.
Despite William’s refusal to listen, Nate can’t ignore the premonition. And, William can’t ignore Nate. Before the gunman strikes, William must choose either trust in Nate’s ability or to rely only on the facts, but if he does the latter, pride could be the death of him.
It has been a while since I read this story. For some reason writing the review kept slipping my mind. I guess that in and of itself says something.
I am going to be blunt. I didn’t like this story. I tried. I wanted to. I love second chance romance, after all. However, it was just missing to much.
This version of Perceived Love is apparently a highly expanded second edition. I never read the original, so I can’t tell you what is different. I never felt William and Nate as a couple, before or after.
I never fully understood why/how they broke up. Yes, we were told repeatedly, but it never felt genuine. They both had their faults in the initial break-up. Mostly, surrounding stubbornness and narrow-minds.
In addition, I was never convinced that they should get back together. Yes, Nate still cared for William and didn’t want to see him dead. However, the author never convinced me that he wanted William as more than a friend.
I guess that is the crux of the issue. The author never convinced me of this story.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
