When Cheryl shows up at her best friend Gina’s house, she never expects to end up at a dog show for the weekend. Why would she? She doesn’t like dogs. But that doesn’t stop her from having a crazy weekend with Gina, a brand new crew of lesbian friends (and their dogs) and some exciting new love interests–not to mention a mystery thrown in for good measure.
Enjoy the fun, romantic comedy BUT I DON’T LIKE DOGS and find out what happens in Goldie Award Winner Rachel Windsor’s 21,000 word novelette.
Cheryl has basically been kidnapped by her best friend Gina and taken to a weekend long dog show. Most of the dog “mommies” and spectators are lesbians. While the lesbian part s good to her the dog part not so much. To make matters worse everything is poorly done, from rooms to food and booze, very unlike any other year Gina testifies.
Gina meets a great woman with a secret and there are two women interested in Cheryl, one in particular grabs her fancy so things might be looking up. When the show’s champion dog goes missing it is up to Gina, Cheryl and an assorted lot to solve the mystery.
I just LOVE Ms Windsors work, everything she writes is gold! This story is funny, fast paced and lighthearted. Its a novelette so its longer than a short but not so long you can’t read it in a few hours. The writing is solid with a wonderful story line and there are no unnecessary words to bog the book down. The characters are enticing, lovable, and so easily could be real. This tale (tail?) was such a delight and I know you will love it too!
I would like to thank the author for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
