Heaven Sent gets a hell of new keyboardist with a name to match. Hell Witting is an amazing musician and proves to be the answer to a sound that the band was missing. With lavender hair and big violet eyes, he captivates Brent Rose from the start, and not just with his music.
Brent knows better than to get involved with a member of the band. That just invites trouble and the last thing he wants is trouble for Heaven Sent. So he’ll just keep the attraction to himself. Doesn’t matter anyway. Hell couldn’t possibly want him. After all, Brent’s not gorgeous and flashy like the other members of the band.
When Hell makes his interest in Brent all too obvious, Brent is unprepared and unable to stay away.
So, fine, if they just keep it at sex, everything will be all right.
The third book in the Heaven Sent series stars Brent, introduced in the earlier books, and new keyboardist, Hell Witting. I really enjoyed the first book in the series but I can’t say the same of this book. There were several things I did like as well as many things I did.
The good: Brent is a sweet guy who deserves love. I connected him from the get go and wanted him to be happy.
The bad: Hell is an ass. I never connected with him at all. He’s moody and does things I didn’t like.
The ugly: Once again there is a lot of sex in the book. I suppose it’s part of the author’s popularity but I didn’t care for it this time around.
A lot of this book felt repetitive from the first book. I suppose that’s because I went straight from book one to this one. (I skipped book two because another reviewer has it.) Time away might’ve worked better because the strengths of book one were so prevalent in my mind.
If you like the author and the other books in the series I’d definitely recommend giving this book a shot. Even though the series are standalones I’d still suggest readers start from the beginning.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
