Two very different men with a tumultuous history must overcome challenges from all sides and see past their society’s rules to realize they are destined for one another.
Raised to become Alpha of the Yafenack pack, Samuel Goodwin dedicates his life to studying shifter laws, strengthening his body, and learning from his father. But despite his best efforts, Samuel can’t relate to people, including those he’s supposed to lead.
When Samuel meets Korban Keller, the son of a neighboring pack’s Alpha, he reacts with emotion instead of intellect for the first time in his life. Resenting the other shifter for throwing him off-balance, Samuel first tries to intimidate Korban and then desperately avoids him. What he can’t do is forget Korban’s warm eyes, easy smile, and happy personality.
When a battle between their fathers ends tragically, Samuel struggles to lead his pack while Korban works to break through Samuel’s emotional barriers. Two very different men with a tumultuous history must overcome challenges from all sides and see past their society’s rules to realize they are destined for one another.
I LOVED THIS STORY. Ok review done…
No really, I loved this story. From the very beginning I connected with the MCs and was invested in their romance. I felt like this story was one of the most complete stories I have read in a long time. I felt that I knew the characters inside and out and I loved watching the story evolve from first meeting as children, to true mating as adults. I loved being inside Samuel’s head as he struggled to find himself, his purpose, and most of all, as he struggles to connect to someone, anyone else.
I felt that the way this story was laid out was so well done. Samuel was laid bare to the reader and as such his story was so meaningful and easy to love. The world was fantastic and I loved learning more about pack and shifter dynamics.
I will be listening to this one again and I recommend it to everyone!
Charlie David did another great job with this narration. I really love that he easily brings out the emotions of the story. My only complaint once again was the quality of the recording itself. Often times the volume would increase or decrease randomly and I had a hard time understanding some of the breathy tones he used.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the audiobook of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
