Special Agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett have managed the impossible: a few months of peace and quiet. After nearly a year of personal and professional turmoil, they’re living together conflict-free, work is going smoothly, and they’re both happy, healthy, and home every night before dark. But anyone who knows them knows that can’t possibly last.
When an emergency call from home upsets the balance of their carefully arranged world, Ty and Zane must juggle family drama with a perplexing crime to save a helpless victim before time runs out.
From the mountains of West Virginia to a remote Texas horse ranch harboring more than just livestock and childhood memories, Ty and Zane must face their fears—and their families—to overcome an unlikely enemy and bring peace back into their newly shared world.
God these men were so beautiful and loving together! Their connection was so deep and so easily felt by the reader. The way Zane needed Ty was intense and tugged at my heartstrings. The way Ty knew what Zane needed was just as moving. These books have ceased to be about the mystery and are all about Ty and Zane’s relationship for me. They are like a drug and I need another hit.
I loved Ty’s family. They were so dysfunctionally functional and funny. And I was soooooo happy they accepted Ty and Zane. Grandpa Chester rocked!
I was so excited to learn more about Zane’s family because I got some insight into his history and some of what made him the man he is today. I loved his dad, sister, and niece. The way his dad reacted to Zane’s announcement about dating Ty was wonderful. I now better understand Zane and totally appreciate him more and love his connection with Ty even harder.
The mystery was good and interesting. I loved the cats and I loved the action. The plot totally took a back seat to Ty and Zane’s relationship but it was still so vital to moving them forward. I am kicking myself for waiting so long to read this series and can’t wait to start the next book.
This is the third narrator for this particular series and I was a bit sceptical because I was not fond of the previous two. However, I enjoyed this narration and think it really brought out Ty and Zane. I look forward to hearing J.F Harding read the next book.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the audiobook of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
