Overweight Truman Rautigan and his mom are about to be made homeless, but she’s a top slimming salesperson who could win her dream house if Truman comes through with some sales of his own. Instead, he’s stashing food in his bottom drawer and indulging in late-night binges.
When his mom sends him to infiltrate a rival weight loss group, he meets the gorgeous Brad, biker, mechanic and successful slimmer. But Brad couldn’t be interested in Truman, could he? What if he knew Truman’s real reason for being there? Truman could lose everything if his shameful secrets are exposed…
This story was a nice surprise; a well-written, cute romance with main characters possessing a body type not normally seen in gay romance.
Big Guy stars overweight Truman Rautigan whose mother is obsessed with a weight loss program and urges Truman to scope out the competition and steal members to help with their own bottom line.
At the first meeting he goes undercover at Truman meets Brad and is instantly smitten. Truman and Brad become friends and then more while Truman’s lies eat away at him.
Something great happens as Truman and Brad get to know each other; Truman actually loses weight.
This was a short story but could’ve easily been fleshed out into a novella or novel. The writing here is strong and entertaining and the characters realistic and likable.
