This has been a very busy month for me!

Now I do a lot of traveling throughout the year. It comes with the job. But most of the time I’m traveling once every couple months, usually to Atlanta. This month is taking traveling to a whole new level though!

On March 2nd I drove out to Atlanta to stay with JP Barnaby and Shae Connor. On March 3rd, the three of us piled into the car to head down to Orlando for the annual Dreamspinner Press Author Workshop. This is my second year attending the workshop, and it’s something I absolutely love

There were fabulous panels on everything from Social Media Marketing to Forensics for Fiction to the Dreamspinner State of the Union. I learned a lot and had a great time seeing old friends. And hey, what’s better than getting work done while sitting poolside?

The Dreamspinner Author Workshop is totally worth being folded up in the backseat of Camaro for seven hours each day.

After all the sun and fun was over, along with a few teary goodbyes, it was back into JP’s Camaro and back to Atlanta. It was a long trek which involved a lot of cursing at Kias, but we eventually made it back safe and sound.

I stayed put in Atlanta for a few days, crashing in JP and Shae’s guest room slash office. (Which was a great place to work from BTW!) And then after some more fun with friend and a few more teary goodbyes, it was off to Mississippi.

Yup, you heard that, Mississippi.

I’ve never been to Mississippi before, so I was definitely excited to visit a new state. But more than that, I was excited to visit with Prism Book Alliance’s very own, PizzyGirl!

I showed up at her apartment an hour early, since silly me forgot time zones exist. So I found somewhere to park and did some work on my laptop, sitting in my car. Yes, I got some weird looks from the redneck locals but hey, what can you do?

Katie took me out to dinner at a burger place she’d been wanting to try, then we spent the evening talking and laughing and just having a good time. After resisting the urge to organize her bookshelves, I slept like the dead until my alarm went off the next morning.

And then it was on the way out to Houston to help Brandilyn with her move and child-wrangling.

Driving out to Houston wasn’t too bad until I hit the hurricane that is currently taking over the entire state of Louisiana. But once I hit the Texas border, it was all sunshine, heat, and high speed limits!

So now I’m here, already exhausted because these kids have way more energy than I do!

Is it time for bed yet?
