Dillon Carter’s boyfriend, Marc Francis, is a paid assassin. That little fact makes having a normal relationship very complicated. Especially when there are people out there in the big bad spy world who hate Marc so much the last thing they want is him to end up happy.
Obsessive enemies, ex-lovers and poisoned espresso do nothing to make Marc and Dillon’s trip to Italy relaxing. In fact, they’ll be lucky if they survive at all.
SC Wynne is another author who never disappoints. Assassins Love People Too, the much anticipate sequel to the first book in her Assassins in Love series, is no exception.
If you have not read book 1, Assassins are People Too, you will need to in order to fully enjoy this installment. ALPT picks up right were AaPT leaves off.
In ALPT, we get alternating first person perspectives. In this installment, we see that Marc isn’t quite as cold and unfeeling as he appears. We get to see him struggle between the man he shows the world and the man Dillion needs him to be. We get to see Dillon’s insecurities as well as Marc’s. We get to see Marc as a human like any other.
Of course, there are still assassin-ish things happening to Dillion and Marc. Some of which is off-page. Some of which are the main point of the story and lend excitement and suspense to the love story. It also serves as a catalyst for Marc to finally admit what Dillon needs to hear.
I am hoping book three will pick up right where the epilogue of this installment left off. Wynne knows how to leave us in suspense. (For you cliffhanger haters out there, this isn’t a true cliffhanger… more a teaser for the next book).
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
