In the middle of a three-week fishing trip, commercial fisherman Roberta (Bert) Coughlin rescues Alissa Cooper from her burning yacht and has no choice but to take the pampered rich girl along.
Alissa and Bert are from very different worlds. Bert struggles to succeed with the whims of Mother Nature. Alissa owns a successful advertising agency and is the epitome of high class and high fashion. When Alissa volunteers to help on the boat, Bert is more than a little surprised at how well she does.
The attraction between them grows, and one stormy night their pent-up desires crash together like the waves against the ship. When the ship returns to port, both women realize their lives are too different for anything other than their brief affair. They are simply too different. Their families are too different. Their lives too different. Then why do they keep coming back to each other?
Alissa owns an advertising agency. She has a love of sailing that she inherited from her parents. Several years ago her life was turned upside down and since then she has vowed to never trust another woman with her heart.
Following in her father’s footsteps, Bert owns her own tuna boat. Along with her crew she heads out to sea sometimes for weeks at a time. Unlike her father she is determined that she will never leave a woman behind to worry and wonder if she will make it home or if she gave her life to the sea. This is all well and fine but Poseidon has other ideas….
This book is both a Bold Strokes Book and was written by Julie Cannon. These facts alone should be enough to tell you this is a must read book. But what the heck, as long as I am here I might as well tell you what I think. I love how Ms Cannon tells a story. She has a magical way with words. She can completely cloak you in a spell she weaves making you part of the tale. You can almost feel the sun and wind, smell the sea and hear the sounds of the waves, boats and sea birds. The story is delightful. This book is well paced and technically sound. Its entertaining, interesting, VERY sensual, erotic and enticing. Once you start to read you will not want to put it down! Even when you get to the end you wont be finished. I found myself thinking about Alissa and Bert days later. This is a book I will read again and again.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
