Blurb:

Five years ago, everything went wrong. Braden Kirk and Rafe Jessen’s long-term relationship started unraveling. They stopped talking, fears mounted, then Braden walked in on Rafe and another man, completely misreading the situation. Without giving Rafe a chance to explain, Braden walks out. Out of their home, their relationship, and the game development company they started together in college.

After months of therapy to deal with the attempted rape Braden walked in on, Rafe begins to understand that his dominant tendencies in the bedroom aren’t a bad thing and that Braden’s submission is likely what scared his partner into silence. But Rafe isn’t ready to let go of the man he loves more than life itself. He arranges for himself and Braden to end up on the same charity cruise, knowing Braden won’t let his phobia—terror of vast, deep waters—rule him.

With a plan and twenty-eight days, Rafe is determined to get Braden back, make him see there’s nothing wrong with being submissive, and find a way to get Braden to stay with him when they get home to LA.

What About Now Book Cruise

Welcome to the What About Now book cruise (tour)! Thanks to Prism Book Alliance for welcoming me today. I hope you’ll follow the entire tour. Lots of chances to win a signed paperback copy of What About Now, $10 at Dreamspinner Press or an audiobook copy of Choices!

Each cruise (tour) stop will feature an excerpt from the story related to where the characters were for that day. Check the Rafflecopter at the end of the post to enter your answer to the question related to the excerpt for the chance to win a backlist ebook for each stop.

Today stop is the ninth on our cruise and sees our couple in Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia. Let’s see what the boys got up to…

“Oh yeah,” Braden said, nodding. He glanced over at Rafe, and at the same time, they said, “Earrings.” Braden laughed and stepped into the little shop. He took his time looking over the options, though he didn’t need to. He was dragging his feet.

He needed to talk to Rafe.

The bingo game the other night had messed with him. Rafe kept saying he didn’t want a 24/7 relationship, but then he’d make comments like he had before the bingo had started. While Braden had come to terms with Rafe’s domination, with the play he could now admit he liked, he was sure he wasn’t ready for it to be all the time. And having Rafe tell him one thing, then do another was wreaking havoc on his already dwindling sanity. But bringing the subject up seemed a monumental task.

He finally forced himself to stop at a pair of Tahitian pearl earrings that hung from tiny flowers in a silver setting. “What do you think of these?”

“Perfect for your mom. Look, I think that might work for Alice. What do you think?” Rafe pointed to a necklace with a Tahitian pearl inside a teardrop of silver.

“Oh, yeah. Alice would love that. Well, that was easier than I thought it would be.”

Rafe nodded. “I don’t mind getting this part out of the way first. We can take our time the rest of the day.”

“I’d like that.” Braden looked up to find the clerk, but noticed she was waiting on someone else. He took a deep breath and turned toward Rafe, determined to get the conversation started. But he was momentarily derailed when he saw Rafe holding a braided leather cord of some sort. “What’s that?”

Rafe held it up, taking the few steps closer. “Tahitian pearl. For men. It’d look gorgeous on you.”

Braden blushed. “Uh, I don’t know about that.”

“Hush, it would. Turn around.”

him, then adjusted the clasp. Braden turned back and peered in the mirror. “It is gorgeous.”

Rafe leaned in and murmured in Braden’s ear. “Could almost be a collar when you’re serving me.”

Braden swallowed and took a deep breath. He couldn’t ask for a better opening. “Rafe, about that. Uh….”

Rafe frowned, and Braden had to fight the urge to keep his mouth shut to prevent Rafe from looking like that. Instead, he took another breath.

“Did you decide you don’t want to do that?”

Braden held up a hand and shook his head. “No. I just… something’s been bugging me and I’m trying to remember to talk about things. The… the other day, during bingo, you leaned over and called me boy.”

Rafe’s frown eased a little, but he certainly didn’t look happy. He nodded. “I remember. I… I just didn’t think about it.”
Braden nodded. “I figured that. And, uh, I mean, it wasn’t that big a deal, but… I mean….” He sighed. “I’m not sure I’m ready to do it all the time or anything. Not yet, at least. And, well….” He shrugged a shoulder and turned back to the jewelry.
Rafe touched his arm. “You have every right to be uncomfortable with that. I’m sorry, Braden. I won’t say I don’t like being able to say things like that, things private between us. But I won’t do it if you’re uncomfortable with it.”

Braden took a long moment to gather his thoughts. “I think… I think it’s just that I wasn’t expecting it?” He frowned. “I’m not sure I am uncomfortable with it. But that’s just it—I’m not sure yet.”

“That’s fair, Braden. Thank you for saying so.”

Letting out a long breath, Braden nodded. “Thanks for not freaking out.” He gave a crooked half smile.

“Listen, the necklace thing… I didn’t mean to imply I was collaring you or anything. I just thought it would look good on you.”

“I like it, really.”

Rafe nodded. “Well, then, let’s pay for it.” He reached for it, but Braden frowned again.

“You don’t have to take it off to pay for it.” He put his hand on it. He didn’t like the idea of giving it up. He couldn’t—or maybe wouldn’t—say why, but he just did not want to remove it in that minute.

Rafe looked at him for a long moment, something in his eyes Braden couldn’t decipher, then smiled. “All right, then. So… we did find something for the ladies, then, too, right?”

Braden swallowed and took a long, slow breath. “Yeah. Over here.”

Thanks for reading! Remember to keep up with the whole cruise for a chance to win at each stop. And each entry will give you an opportunity to be entered to win one of the three big prizes!

About the Author

Grace-Bio-Picgrace_nohateGrace Duncan grew up with a wild imagination. She told stories from an early age – many of which got her into trouble. Eventually, she learned to channel that imagination into less troublesome areas, including fanfiction, which is what has led her to writing male/male erotica.

A gypsy in her own right, Grace has lived all over the United States. She has currently set up camp in East Texas with her husband and children – both the human and furry kind.

As one of those rare creatures who loves research, Grace can get lost for hours on the internet, reading up on any number of strange and different topics. She can also be found writing fanfiction, reading fantasy, crime, suspense, romance and other erotica or even dabbling in art.
