When these two get together to rehearse their lines, things heat up in a big way.
Alex has had a crush on his scene partner, Jack, since the first day of rehearsal. He loves the theater and getting to perform Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing is a dream come true for him, but he can’t stay focused long enough to learn his lines with Jack around. When they get together to rehearse one of the hottest scenes in the play, it could be Alex’s one shot to convince Jack to give him a chance.
There isn’t much to say about this short story. It’s definitely in the meh category. It’s not terrible but it’s not great either.
Alex and Jack rehearse a scene together and end up having sex. That’s the plot. There’s no characterization here and you don’t really get to know the characters in any deep way.
That said the sex is written quite well. But that’s really all I can say about this story. It could’ve been better if the author had put more thought into and with the help of a good editor. Ricci is real hit or miss with me. I’ve read some really good books by her and also a couple duds. This one falls in between. It’s a short read and not expensive. I just know Ricci could’ve done better.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
