The first novella in this boxed set focuses on Levi and Sonny who hate each other and can barely be in the same room together.
Levi is strictly a top in the porn business and his private life and although not cruel he gives the men he shoots with very little thought. He’s been doing porn for a few years and although he doesn’t mind it as a job he hates the reasons why and he sees no way for anything to change in the short term.
Sonny is a dancer, student and works for the porn studio. Levi is about the only top he hasn’t had a shoot with but he appears to have an agenda where the bullish man is concerned. He agrees to shoot a threesome where Levi will bottom for the first time but it doesn’t go quite as planned. This is a teasing story where you are never quite sure of the motives and the relationship unfolds like a slowly unwrapped present.
Cam is Mr Nice at Blue Boy Studios. Another top, another porn veteran and the guy all the new guys want to start out with as he looks after them all with a smile on his face. Cam’s personal life is another matter though, since his mother walked out on their family Cam has been out of sorts and it’s led him to a pretty destructive relationship with the Studio boss who is an odious little man.
A few things happen at once to shake Cam; he meets Sasha, a BMX biker who he has a lot in common with, he comes to the realisation that his current relationship is not good for him and he has a health scare that forces him to stop and re-evaluate his life. There is an important message that runs along with this story as well as a great couple who struggle to make things work. I liked Cam and Sasha a lot and this story focuses less on the porn and more on the mental health of the characters.
This story was all about the build-up between Kai and Matthew. Kai is off his game and appears bored when one of the new owners of the studio steps in and sets him the challenge of coming up with a scene that will hold his interest. With the scene decided Kai now needs to become friends with Matthew, a relatively new model and dancer at the club.
This is a much slower story than the previous two and my least favourite out of the three. Kai and Matthew were good together but it took the entire story for that to happen. You do get to catch up with the previous characters though which is always a bonus but it feels like Sonny had more of a story to tell – perhaps there will be more books in the future.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
