Finnigan O’Reilly is a magnet for all the wrong men, but now he has really screwed up. His attraction involves two men in a relationship…with each other.

Finn made a big mistake once and he’s still paying for it. Not only was the man already married to someone else—it turned out the man was also a psychopath, and he’s still hunting Finn. Finn thinks he’s safe enough at the lakehouse mansion, though. After all, he does live with a group of assassins, and each one would do just about anything to protect him, especially two very special men Finn should not be looking at with dreamy eyes. When his past catches up with him in a local park, it’s Shade and Tanner to his rescue. He doesn’t intend to make the same mistake twice, but intentions go right out the window when it comes to these two Demon Elite members.

My View:

For me, Tanner & Shade is the best of this series so far in terms of build up to a romance. This threesome had been mentioned in the other books leading up to this one so it felt set up better and I felt as if I connected to the outcome easier. I understood the tension between these men and didn’t feel as if it was as rushed as the previous romances. The author finally found a way to give me what I needed to understand the whys of love.

However, I do still feel that the overall story was rushed. So much time was spent on the build-up that the actual time these three were together felt like an afterthought stuck in at the end because it needed to be there. I still had questions and felt Finn and Tanner as individuals were not finished with their journies. Shade was solid, but I wanted more growth and healing from Finn and Tanner.

But the one thing that really stood out to me and worked the best for me was the way the author treated this developing threesome. This was not a case of couple meets third and all is perfect from day one. Nope not even close. Tanner and Shade had to figure things out with themselves first and then they could approach Finn, who had his own struggles to overcome. And then once all three started moving forward, they had to fumble and learn and grow and communicate and it was a mess for a while. The emotions were high and yet it worked out in the end, even if that ending was really just a beginning.

I am hoping that Tanner, Shade, and Finn either feature heavily in future books or get a follow up book of their own, because I need to see how they figure things out and how their relationship progresses. They have a lot left to learn and a ton of healing and growing to do and it would be a disservice to the readers if this was ignored or glossed over. I look forward to seeing where this series goes as it continues forward and look forward to reading the next book soon.
