Book 2 is recommended to read first.

It’s been a couple years since Commander John Marion – the US Navy’s most decorated SEAL – hung up his dog tags, choosing his cherished Alpha over war.

Call and Alpha have settled comfortably into their carefree lives nestled in the mountains of South Carolina. No more combat for the Commander and no more ordered killings for the deadliest assassin in the world.

However, nothing stays peaceful forever.

When Alpha’s brother Omega comes to their secluded home with a distressing message from their Order, Alpha has to answer the call. But what neither of them expect is for the Order to send them a new assassin, one just as deadly as both of them, to seek their counsel and bring them back Persia.

Lion’s commanding presence was not at all what any of them anticipated. Especially Omega. Lion realizes what Omega is to him right away, but the stubborn man fights his every advance. Lion knows he and Omega have to connect if they’re going to be victorious. He was sent to bring back an army but if he can’t get his cherished to yield to him, they are sure to fail.

Call refuses to let Alpha fight a gang of rebel assassins without him. Omega will fight by his brother’s side, no matter what… and Hawk saw them coming for his help before anyone else. Together they’ll fight the toughest opponents they’ve ever faced. As always… these badass warriors are up for the challenge.

This book ends in an HEA and does not end in a cliffhanger.

My View:

This was a long anticipated and well done wrap up of a series that I have thoroughly enjoyed.

This author is well known for her hard assed alpha figures who fight and love hard and go all in when they meet their ‘one’. The Beastmasters may now be a defunct unit but when they are needed to help out the Order they sink easily back into their roles. I liked that the fighting and the taking down of the rebel Order members took backstage to the relationships – firstly between Call and Alpha and then between Omega and Lion.

When the mysterious Lion turns up on Call and Alpha’s doorstep asking for help in saving their beloved Order Alpha can’t turn his back on him even if he is no longer an assassin. Lion thought his task was to gather a small army of men to defeat the rebels but as soon as he sets eyes on Omega he knows he was sent for more. It would appear Lion and Omega’s crossing of paths was planned a long time ago but Omega is not happy about it – he is struggling with his feelings, he hates no longer working for the Order and he misses the closeness he had with his brother Alpha. The dynamics between Lion and Omega are intense whilst a battle of wills plays out.

Alpha left the Order when he found Call. They live in seclusion and all they really need is each other. Determined to never let his guard down Alpha trains often with the man he loves determined that they will always be safe and have the upper hand. Dragged back into a dangerous situation they are more than prepared but Call fights against it initially not wanting any harm to come to the man he loves.

The Order assassins find themselves teamed up with the Beastmasters to flush out the rebels and serve a swift and harsh justice to them all. There is lots of on page time spent with the previous characters from this series and the ending wrapped everything up nicely. If you haven’t started this series I would highly recommend it.
