Alexander Bryant has lived his entire life making everyone else happy. After meeting Lincoln, will he have the courage to finally do what makes him happy?
Alexander – I like to imagine myself a rebel – an ass-kicker that takes what he wants regardless of what others think. I make my own path and flip off the people who don’t agree. I laugh in the face of conflict. Nobody tells me what to do.
In reality, everything about me is a lie – past, present, and future. The Bryant name requires certain things and all my decisions are based on those requirements. I like football, but the family name demands I love it. I want to be an artist, but the family name demands I be a lawyer. The family demands I fall in love with a nice girl, but I’m falling for, well, the opposite of nice AND girl. I’m a coward and a liar.
Lincoln – I like to imagine myself a loner – a cold heartless bastard that takes what he wants. I lived the biggest part of my life with parents that were ashamed of me for more reasons that one could begin to count, so I trust no one.
I have a low tolerance for bullshit and hate liars.
So why did I go and fall in love with the biggest liar of them all?
Touchdown was great fun, had two extremely likeable MC’s and some very hot and kinky times.
Lincoln is the kind of book character I really like. He is a bit dark, a lot mysterious and he makes no excuses for what he likes and who he is. He owns a BDSM club and appears to be an experienced and respected Dom. Outwardly he presents quite an aloof and disinterested persona but inwardly he is a big softie who falls quick and hard and can easily get hurt. He acted much older than his age and obviously had some pretty big demons of his own from his childhood if the small glimpse about his father is anything to go by. He likes to play but doesn’t really get involved and he never takes a man home to his bed – until he catches a glimpse of Alexander on the clubs cctv – then all bets are off as he has seen something he wants which soon transforms into something he needs.
Alexander Bryant is a puppet of the Bryant dynasty. He lives under the tyranny of his grandfather who might have become the first seventy year old I ever wanted to throw a punch at – I should point out I’m not a violent person! He hides who he really is in every facet of his life and has become a kind of drone that will go to law school and join the family firm – because that is how his life has been planned. He endures awkward and stifling brunches once a week where the matriarch of the family treats everyone around him like imbeciles. He hides his love and talent for painting because that is not what a Bryant man does. He dates pretty and often vacuous ladies because a Bryant man should have a pretty wife. The list is endless but it is exacting and determined by a man who is nothing but a tyrant.
What Alexander really doesn’t need in his life is complications and when he meets Lincoln whilst accompanying a friend to a BDSM club he becomes the biggest complication of Alexander’s life. Challenged to a short scene where Lincoln wields his whip is a game changer for both men and one that has Alexander terrified and flying at the same time. Be prepared for some kink that is both fun and smoking and leaves Alexander with a huge decision – does he keep allowing his family to pull his strings or will he finally cut them and chase his own dreams.
Wonderful start to a new series and I can’t wait to see where the author goes next.
