While Shax recovers from a near fatality, his shipmates have been busy. He’s rather proud of them taking the initiative and finding them a lucrative cargo run. His pride turns to outright horror, though, when he finds out what sort of cargo.
Unfortunately, he’ll soon discover that a healthy fear of frogs doesn’t prevent frog-driven disasters. Time travel has never been so messy.

Ulysses originally reviewed the title for Prism. I totally agree with the majority of his points, so I won’t spend too long on the story review.
I will admit that I put off this series for a long time. I have no idea why since I have enjoyed everything else I have ever read from Ms. Martinez. However, once they were on audio, I couldn’t resist any longer. I soon fell deeply for Shax and his ragtag group of demons, angels, and with the addition of a cowboy from the past, humans. Since the third and fourth installments aren’t yet in audio, I had to continue the series in eBook, which I happily did.
These aren’t deep reads. They are great for a little bit of light in an otherwise dark period I was in emotionally. They didn’t take a lot of thought, but they were an enjoyable few hours.
I can’t say that I loved Vance Bastian as a narrator. He is far from my favorite, but he did an adequate job. He kept me engaged in the story, without pulling me out with objectionable voices. Eventually he became Shax, et. al.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the audiobook of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
I have a number of paperbacks, most of which are signed, to giveaway. Over the between now (11 Mar 2017) and 31 Mar 2017, every comment on the blog (this post and all other new posts), will be entered to win 1 of these paperbacks.
