What should have been a beautiful new beginning is undone by the hatred and envy of another.
Ten years ago, Kaine Keeley watched in horror as the love of his life turned his back on him, taking with him his one true chance at happiness. Now that he’s no longer the penniless, shy boy he once was, Kaine is ready to fight and take back what was stolen from him.
A long time ago, Graeson Hardin thought that Kaine was worth fighting for. But after witnessing a crushing betrayal, he ran and never looked back. He wants nothing now but to live his life of solitude, protected from a love that almost destroyed him.
Having traveled different roads in life, will these former lovers be able to battle the evil that may still be working to keep them apart and find a way to begin their long journey back home?

Adventures of a #1 M/M Fan

Hello everyone!  I am JC Jaynes and I am here today to introduce myself and my debut novel, Long Road Home.  First let me just thank Brandilyn for hosting me today and allowing me a chance to share my work.

Long Road Home is the first offering in my series, Hill Country Heat.  It takes place in the fictitious Texas town of Perfect.  Kaine Keeley has come to town in order to win back the love of his life, Graeson Hardin.  Through a series of misunderstandings and manipulations, Graeson abandoned Kaine leaving both men devastated and unable to move on for nearly ten years.  But Kaine is back and he is not leaving without a fight.  He plans on winning back his man and he won’t let anyone get in his way.

I am new to writing and decided to bring the characters of Graeson and Kaine to life one November during NaNoWriMo.  Completing a novel in 30 days for a first time writer should have sounded insane to me, but the fact is, the story had been in my head for a while and I just needed the push to set it free.  So I did.  I completed the first draft in 27 days.  Of course, over the next three years I would continue to work on Long Road Home as well as others with the very vague notion that I might one day publish them.

A friend thought that my writing hobby was so exciting and constantly suggested that I should publish my work. I was iffy about that, but I noticed that one of my absolute favorite authors was accepting submissions and I thought, why not?  I submitted my work to Via Star Wings Books and what do you know?  The publisher liked it!  It was very exciting for me.  From writing for the pure joy of it, to having someone actually enjoy your work is a feeling like none other.

I am a native Houstonian and an avid reader.  I have five awesome kids whose reactions range from delight to horror that their mother writes love scenes. By day I work in the Oil and Gas industry, but by night, I give over to all the voices in my head and allow my characters to come alive.

Well, that’s it for now.  I hope you will all check out Long Road Home.  It was a pleasure being here.

About the Author

I am a native Houstonian, and I absolutely love the great state of Texas, especially our gorgeous Hill Country.  I am mother to five awesome children who, like their mom, are all weird and quite possibly a little bit nutty.  I absolutely love both reading and writing about love and lovers.  Although I am new to writing in the M/M genre, I am no stranger to it.  I have been hooked for years and I am still the biggest fangirl you’d ever want to meet!
