Cupid is visiting Bluewater Bay, and he’s leaving chaos in his wake.
Nothing’s been the same in this sleepy little logging town since Hollywood came to shoot the hit TV show Wolf’s Landing—especially Valentine’s Day.
In L.A. Witt’s Just Another Day, beloved actors Levi Pritchard and Carter Samuels have an announcement for their fans, while in Z.A. Maxfield’s I’ll Be There, actor Spencer Kepler and his boyfriend Nash Holly brave a blizzard and a fan convention to spend their first February the 14th together.
Of course, it’s not just TV stars celebrating the day. In Anne Tenino’s Helping Hand, an aspiring artist eager to escape Bluewater Bay decides he just might have a reason to stay: lust-inspiring logger Gabriel Savage. In S.E. Jakes’s No Easy Way, a local teacher reconnects with an old lover working security on the film set. And in Amy Lane’s Nascha, a Bluewater Bay elder recalls how his own unconventional family used to celebrate the holiday.
Real life may be nothing like TV, but when Cupid comes to town, there’s plenty of romance and drama to go around.
I must confess this is the first book I’ve read from the Bluewater Bay series. I own most of them but just haven’t made it there yet. This is billed as mostly a standalone, and I would agree with that. There are a few stories that would have benefited from reading previous books, but on the whole, I didn’t miss out.
All the stories made me want to go back and read the first 5 books as well as made me look forward to the next books in the series. The only one I had a problem with was No Easy Way by SE Jakes. It had cheating which is one topic that must be done in a certain way or I just can’t handle it. This was not done well.
Although really sad, I enjoyed Nascha (pronounced Nashua). It just really stood out in my mind. I also really liked I’ll Be There by ZA Maxfield. It was sweet to see the dedication Nash had to Spencer. Helping Hand by Anne Tenino showed potential for Gabe and Lucas in the future and I look forward to their book. I also want to read Levi and Carter’s story after reading Just Another Day by LA Witt.
All in all a good collection of stories about love and what it means to them.
I really liked Nick J Russo’s narration. He had good tone and voices and was a pleasure to listen to. He did most of the stories, No Easy Way by SE Jakes is the only one done by Dorian Bane. Dorian Bane has a unique voice but not much definition between characters. It was okay but I didn’t feel the narration added to the story at all.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the audiobook of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
