Best friends since high school, Chase Bradley and Alec Montero are opposites in almost every way. The one thing they can agree on, though, is that marriage is for suckers.
Everything is going their way until a drunken bet leads Alec and Chase to the altar. Their temporary “I Do’s” aren’t as amusing in the sober light of day when they find themselves thrown into married life and everything that goes with it.
The question they have to ask themselves now is, can their friendship survive being married for a month?
At it’s heart Married for a Month is a friends to lovers story. But Cate Ashwood takes it beyond that simple trope and makes a sweet, low angst romance of two men who’ve loved each other than either of them realized.
Alec and Chase, friends since childhood, are both players and their mutual friends doubt either of them could hack it being married. So they all make a drunken bet that involves Alec and Chase living together as husband and husband for one month.
At first it’s not that bad, then they start to snipe at each other but everything changes when they have sex for the first time. They both vow to not let it interfere with their friendship after the bet is over. But of course that’s not going to happen.
Alec and Chase have undeniable chemistry and once they allow those feelings out there’s no going back. Watching their journey from just friends to fake husbands with benefits and finally to lovers was an intriguing journey. In lesser hands this would have been just a generic tale but in the talented hands of Ashwood it’s so much more.
