Blurb:

A man discovers that love can show up when you least expect it—and in a much different form—in this piping-hot romance from the author of Due Diligence and Just Business.

Brian Keppler, owner of Ground N’At, the coffee shop beneath SR Anderson Consulting, doesn’t have time for a relationship. His most recent girlfriend broke up with him because he’d become married to his shop, which is falling apart without his favorite barista, Justin.

As he struggles to stay afloat, the arrival of handsome British high-tech whiz Robert Ancroft becomes another complication. Rob quickly becomes a fixture at the shop with his sharp wit and easy charm, and Brian soon finds himself looking forward more and more to Rob’s visits—to the point where his heart skips a beat when he walks in.

But will Brian be able to come to terms with his previously unexplored sexual identity and find happiness now that he has a chance?

What’s Next for Takeover?

One of the questions I’ve seen out there now that Daily Grind is released is what’s next for the series?

The short answer is: I don’t know.

The long answer is that I have many more books in the Takeover universe that I want to write (and I talk about a few of them in another blog tour post), but the reality is I have no idea when I’ll get to them.

Part of this is that I want to write other books and other series. I have a set of rock star books I want to write. I also need to get back to my paranormal romance series. I also have a fantasy novel that I’ve been aching to write for years. There’s only so many hours in the day I can write in, so I have to spread things around.

I do love the characters and the world I created with Takeover and I think I achieved most of what I set out to do—show different aspects of relationships and that HEAs could happen in different ways. That flawed people can overcome their own flaws—and find happiness. I also got to showcase a little of Pittsburgh in the process.

I also wanted to pull back the covers a bit on the world I live in—high tech. Heroes can be geeks and nerds. And geeks and nerds can come in suits as will as t-shirts.

There are blanks I want to fill in, like what happened with Michael and Eli back in college and how Eli came to work for Sam, and I’ll probably tinker with those and post some pieces on my blog. They’re not stories that will make novels, so I can work them in between other projects.

I’m very grateful for my readers and their love of Sam’s little queer consulting firm and the stories that have surrounded it, from Sam and Michael’s unexpected meeting to Brian and Rob’s coffee-fueled romance.

Thank you for joining me on the journey so far. It’s not over—just paused for a bit.

Meanwhile, there will be other books, too. Look for a new release from me in October! It’s a poly romance and it’s going to be part of Riptide’s Bluewater Bay series, so something a bit different…but I think you’ll like this one, too!
