He thought his mate would never come back. He was wrong.
Jack Harrington told everyone who asked that he’d gotten over Connor a long time ago. And while he still hasn’t managed to convince himself, he moves on with his life. He doesn’t have a choice. Connor is gone for good.
Or is he?
Connor Warden didn’t plan to ever come back to Harrington Hills, but with an infant in tow, that is exactly what he does. His daughter needs a pack and he is going to give it to her.
When Jack and Connor’s lives literally collide again, will they be able to go back to what had been and find their connection once more? Or is the divide between them too deep to ever fully get over?
Publisher’s Note: This book is best read in sequence as part of a series
First off I need to say that I didn’t heed the publisher’s note and read this book without reading the other in the series. I don’t know if that affected my review or not but I did enjoy the story, though it didn’t wow me.
Even though this is a paranormal story featuring wolf shifters there isn’t a lot of shifting. It’s a story about two ex-lovers coming back together after some time apart. I usually avoid shifter stories because they’re usually so similar. This one was different in that the conflict was internal rather than externally shifter-based. I liked that aspect.
I liked reading about Jack and Connor coming back together and learning how to forgive and forget. While I liked both men there wasn’t a lot of difference in their voices. I often forgot whose head I was in as I was reading.
This was a decent read with an interesting plot. If you’ve read the rest of the series I’d give this one a go for sure.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
