Farewell and a Giveaway

This is not easy to do or say.  I have had a blast with every one of you for the last almost 4 years.  However, I have come to the very difficult decision to close the blog.

I could go into the reasons why, and there are many.  There are just as many reasons to keep it open.  However, in the end, I have to do what is right for my self, my health, and my family.  That is to focus my time, energy, and resources elsewhere.

I am not going anywhere, I will still be in the community.  I will be at RT and GRL this year, I plan to go to GRL next year as well.  I am also not taking down the blog, so the content you have loved over the last 3 years, will still be available for the foreseeable future.

Many of our reviewers have found new homes within the Gay Romance community:

PizzyGirl and Caroline will be able to be found at Love Bytes

Queue will be found at The Novel Approach.

I will still be found as a contributor on Jeff & Will’s Big Gay Fiction Podcast you can also find me on my new venture Photography by Brandilyn

Our final new content will be posted on 31 Mar 2017.

The Giveaway –

I have a number of books, most of which are signed, to giveaway.  Over the next 2 weeks, every comment on the blog (this post and all other new posts), will be entered to win 1 of these paperbacks.  There are also some misc swag items, so there will be a few of these to give away as well.

  13. I’m so sorry to see Prism end, but I completely get it and you are right, you have to do what is best for you and yours. I wish you nothing but the best in what comes next and can’t thank you enough for the amazing resource Prism has been ever since I first discovered MM. <3

  14. Best wishes, Brandilyn and to the whole PBA crew. I know you’ve built up a fun community here and you should be proud of that. It’s difficult to end things, but I’m so glad you have things coming that sound great. Thanks for all the good times!

  15. How is it possible to cry for the loss of something that means so much and yet rejoice in the good fortune of someone else? Decisions are always difficult and making a list, hoping that it will come out leaning perfectly on one side, doesn’t really tell the whole story.

Your blog was the first one I read when I found mm romance and you’ve opened a whole new world for me. I will never be able to see a Prism without remembering the stories and authors you’ve given me.

I received a Nikon for Christmas so I can only hope to enjoy it as much as you will; taking photos and making new memories. Enjoy; may the rainbows you find through your lens make you smile.

  16. I am was so surprised when I found out the blog was clsoing… and quite sad. But you gotta do what’s best for you. Gook luck and thanks for all these years. <3

  20. So sad to hear about the ending of the blog, but time does march on and sometimes you have to do the right thing for yourself. Thank you so much for all the time you spent giving these wonderful stories a home and a place for readers like me to come and find out more. Wishing you and everyone who has been part of PBA the very best for the future.

  21. Much as I’ve enjoyed Prism, I enjoy Brandilyn more, so I applaud you for taking care of you and giving yourself a break. I know you’re not one to ever put yourself first, so just you saying that is enough for me to know it’s the right decision. You’ll do great with whatever comes next. I’ll still see you around on FB, I’m sure.

  25. Brandilyn, as someone who admires what you’ve created here at Prism, I’m so sad to see the blog close. As someone who knows the time and commitment it takes to build what you’ve built here at Prism, I understand your decision. This is such a loss to the LGBTQ+ blogging/reviewing community. Mad respect to you and your team, and best wishes on your future endeavors. <3

  31. You will be sorely missed. This was one of the first m/m blogs I discovered after finding the wonderful world of m/m books via Goodreads. I have gotten the best book recs here, and have enjoyed each and every post I’ve read. Change is such an important part of life; it can be both exciting and scary. But it takes courage, consideration, and determination to redirect the paths we select in our life-journeys. There can be such satisfaction and fulfillment in choosing a different and/or a more difficult path to follow. I wish you and yours all the best things in life, and may the sun shine down upon the path you choose to take. Thank you for all your efforts in making this such a wonderful blog site. 🙂

  32. You have been a huge encouragement to me in my own writing, and I’m sure I’m far from the only person who could say (or already has!) said that. Looking forward to seeing you at GRL!

  33. Sorry to hear that the blog is closing but I’m wishing you all the best in your future endeavors. Thank you for all the time and effort you’ve all put into making this blog a joy to visit!

  34. So sorry to see PBA go, but you have to do what is best for you xx Thank you for all your love, care and support – you will be missed! So glad you’ll still be contributing elsewhere, and I wish you all the best for whatever is in your future <3

  35. Sorry there won’t be any new entries but glad to hear you’ll keep the blog online to enjoy all the past posts. Good luck to you and thanks for the memories 🙂

  36. Best of luck to you!! I will miss the blog – it has been one of my favorites. But, I hope you find happiness and success in your new ventures.
