Work, sleep, work, repeat. Nero’s lonely life suits him just fine until his best friend, Cass, asks him to take on a new apprentice—a beautiful young man who’s never set foot in a professional kitchen. Despite his irritation and his lifelong ability to shut the world out, Nero is mesmerised by the vibrant stray, especially when he learns what drove him to seek sanctuary on Nero’s battered old couch.

Lenny Mitchell is living under a cloud of fear. Pursued by a stalker, he has nowhere left to run until Nero offers him a port in a storm—a job at the hottest restaurant in Shepherd’s Bush. Kitchen life proves heady and addictive, and it’s not long before he finds himself falling hard and fast for the man who has taken him in.

Fast-forward a month and neither man can imagine life without the other, but one thing stands in their way: a lifetime of horrors Nero can’t bring himself to share with Lenny. Or can he? For the first time ever, happiness is there for the taking, and Nero must learn to embrace it before fate steps in and rips it away.

Recent Release Spotlight with Garrett Leigh.

1) We are here today to talk about Strays.  What can you tell us about it?

Strays is the second instalment in the Urban Soul series. The first was my menage and LAMBDA nominated Misfits.

2) Please tell us more about our main characters.

Nero is a veteran chef of Spanish origin. He’s gruff, reticent, and moody. Lenny is his polar opposite—flamboyant, chatty, everyone, including me, LOVES him.

3) What do you want to tell those who may be new to the series (if applicable)?

Urban Soul is set in the London restaurant scene. Be warned: each book will make you HUNGRY.

4) What is next for these characters?  Is there more to this series?  If so who will we hear from next?

Dear God, I have NO idea.

5) What part of writing a book comes the hardest for you?

The end. Knowing when to stop is the hardest thing. And gathering the loose ends drives me CRAZY.

6) If you could rewrite your first published novel what would you change?

My excessive use of the word THICKLY. Seriously, what was I thinking???

7) What do you keep in your bedside table?

My kindle, a half drunk cup of tea, and a secret stash of chocolate.

8) If you could write a menage with any three (or more) characters in the m/m genre (not your own), who would it be, why, and what would their role be?

Santino Hassell’s Nunzio and Olli from his 5B series, along with Sergei from LA Witt’s If the Seas Catch Fire.

9) Rapid Fire Time

Hawaii or Colorado? Colorado
Spring or Fall? Spring
Rock or Country? Rock
Pastel or neon (bright?)? Pastel
Trees or Flowers? Trees
Waxed or Furry? Furry
Multiple choice questions or essay questions? Multiple choice

10) What are you working on?  What is next?

I don’t dare type the list. It’s too long dies
