To New Beginnings and Old Friends ~ Outside the Margins with Andrew Q Gordon

Join Prism Book Alliance® as Andrew Q Gordon goes Outside the Margins today.

Almost every new journey begins with the ending of an old one. We move from one adventure to the next. Sometimes the end is planned well in advance, other times the transition just happens. The start of something new is an exciting and wonderful thing. There’s hope and promise. A fearless strength to take on new challenges and rise above any obstacles. And yes, there are hard goodbyes that have to be said.

I admire Brandilyn for following her heart—just like she did when she started Prism Book Alliance. It takes courage to say goodbye to the familiar and take on a new challenge. But sometimes that’s what is needed. Real happiness comes from being true to yourself and not being afraid to step beyond your comfort zone.

I am sad to see Prism close, but I’m so glad to see Brandilyn doing what makes her happy. She gave me a voice when I was starting out, she nudges me when I’m veering off course and she’s a sounding board for when I need to vent. She is a beautiful soul and an amazing friend. None of that will change. I came to Prism because my friend asked me and now I’m seeing her off because it will make her happy.

So with this my last OTM, I’m not going to say goodbye. Instead I want to wish my friend the very best on her new beginning. Make it wonderful. Make it beautiful. Make it yours.

Enjoy the journey.

Your Friend

Andrew

About Andrew Q Gordon

Andrew Q. Gordon wrote his first story back when yellow legal pads, ball point pens were common and a Smith Corona correctable typewriter was considered high tech. Adapting with technology, he now takes his MacBook somewhere quiet when he wants to write.

He currently lives in the Washington, D.C. area with his partner of twenty years, their young daughter and dog. In addition to dodging some very self-important D.C. ‘insiders’, Andrew uses his commute to catch up on his reading. When not working or writing, he enjoys soccer, high fantasy, baseball and seeing how much coffee he can drink in a day.

  1. That’s a lovely send-off. I’ve already said elsewhere, but OtM is one of my favorite features, and I’ll miss randomly catching up with authors like you who always have something interesting/impassioned to share. Thanks for taking Brandilyn’s invitation and for making such a lovely exit. See you around your home base!

  2. I guess everyone has to follow they hearts, and endings are only doors which open into a new future. I hope Brandlilyn finds what she is looking for in her new projects. Thank you for your post, Andrew
