Holiday Musings and Let Us Talk Resolutions

Well I started this post exactly 1 week ago. Since then, Christmas has come and gone. Whatever it was that I wanted to talk about has long since flitted right out of my head.

Christmas was interesting this year. I was able to see some family and friends from my childhood that I had not seen in over 15 years. My Mother-in-law spent the holiday with us for the first time since C and I were married over 10 years ago. My Father-in-law is half-way around the world but was able to watch the kids open presents through the power of Skype. My side of the family was together for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Most importantly, this was our first Christmas as a family of 5. Allow me a moment of sentimentality as I say that my best present arrived long before Christmas when our beautiful baby girl Emery was born.

I have spent much time trying to figure out what to make this blog. I keep coming back to 5 things that I love – My Family, Homeschooling, cooking/baking, Knitting/Sewing, and Photography. I can’t pick just one, so those items will, collectively, be where I focus my blog. Yes, I use the term focus loosely.

Now that we that have that decided, lets talk about 2012. I don’t like making resolutions. Resolutions are only there to be broken. I want, instead, to make a list of goals and I want you all to help hold me accountable.

Goal Number 1: Create a budget, stick to it, pay down debt.
Goal Number 2: Create a weekly Menu and exercise program and stick to them
Goal Number 3: Get Organized – House, self, chores, etc
Goal Number 4: Learn to Quilt
Goal number 5: Grow my company, Kenzies Kozies, as well as this blog.

I am sure there are more, but I will leave it there for now.

About BrandilynRC

Brandilyn is a middle-aged (When the hell did that happen?) stay-at-home mom to 3 beautiful children (of course she is biased). She started reading M/M Romance and Gay fiction in early 2012 and was quickly hooked. In her first 18 months as a M/M Romance fan, she read over 900 titles in the genre (not counting re-reads), ranging from shorts to epic novels. She reads across all tropes within the Gay Fiction genre…. except Regency, she has never found a love for Regency. A native Texan she finds Texas to the be almost perfect… except for one thing, their treatment of the GLBTQ community. This blog is her brain child and she is happy to welcome some fellow GLBTQ supporters to review here and help promote equality (oh and of course fangirl/fanboy over their favorite authors and works).
