So, I have been trying to catch up on some of my review backlog. I am easily distracted by shiny and my moods, so I have a few books that have fallen off the top of the TBR and become buried. One such title is Finding Master Right by LA Witt. I always enjoy Witt’s stories, but this one just doesn’t seem to have the buzz many of her titles garner, so it just fell off my radar. I now regret that because it is an excellent read, to say the least.

It’s all fun and games until somebody falls in love.
Chase has just arrived at a much anticipated leather convention, and he’s about to lose his mind. Not only is his ex attending, but Chase is also rooming with Derek, a submissive he’s been dying to top. Although Derek is in search of a Dom, he made it painfully clear when the two of them hooked up for a very hot—but very vanilla—night just before the convention that he wasn’t interested in submitting to Chase.
Derek isn’t stupid. No matter how desperate he is to submit to Chase, he wants no part of a rebound relationship. As long as Chase is still pining after the sub who broke his heart a few months ago, Derek’s keeping him at arm’s length. Besides, there’s another Dom at this convention, the gorgeous Master Raul, who Derek is determined to attract.
But when Chase and Derek are confronted with all their kinks, from ropes to leather, bondage to flogging—not to mention each other—they can only ignore their mutual attraction for so long.
Finding Master Right is alternately hot, funny, beautiful, and frustrating as hell. Few books make me actually go complain to the author while reading (okay complain isn’t the right word, but we did tweet briefly over her treatment of Chase *scowls at Witt*), but Finding Master Right inspired just such a reaction. (Oh and for what it is worth, she cackled gleefully at me).
Chase and Derek are long time friends sharing a room at a Leather Con. Master is the definition of slow-burn romance, but don’t worry Witt takes plenty of opportunity to get your pulse racing as well, even if it isn’t between the MCs, exactly. Witt gleefully tortures her poor Sadist Dom, Chase, as he has to watch from afar while the object of his attraction, Masochist and submissive Derek, finds plenty of doms for the moment at the leather con. Even going so far as to have poor Chase WATCH as Derek takes on a hot D/s couple. Don’t get the wrong the scene was hot, but for more than just the sex. There is a subtext to the entire scene that makes you fall for Chase just a little more.
Most of the time when I spend much of the story screaming “just talk to him” in my head it annoys me too much to truly enjoy the story. However, for some reason it was just perfect for this couple. Master exhibits Witt’s famous mix of lovable characters, fun plot, and hot as hell sex. I would love to see more Derek and Chase in the future.

About the Author
L.A. Witt is an author of gay erotic romances, and has been recently exiled from Okinawa, Japan, to Omaha, Nebraska. She resides there with her husband, a telekinetic goldfish, and two incredibly spoiled cats. It’s unclear if the exile was the result of the mostly classified “Aquarium Incident,” or if she’s actually being hidden, for her protection, from the Polynesian Mafia and her arch nemesis, erotic romance author Lauren Gallagher.
Should you encounter Lauren, don’t tell her L. A. is in Omaha. This bio will self-destruct in 17 seconds.
