Houseboat on the Nile by Tinnean ~ Reviewed by Paisley

Super hot, super sexy, secret agents you say? I was really looking forward to reading this series because I love books about men who work undercover – especially when it’s an enemies to lovers sort of story. There is nothing like a little rivalry to make the sparks fly – and there are plenty of sparks flying  in this book.

Spy vs. Spook: Book One

Mark Vincent is WBIS—Washington Bureau of Intelligence and Security. Quinton Mann is staunchly CIA. Mark thinks the CIA is full of dilettantes who leave him and the rest of the WBIS to clean up their messes. Quinn thinks most WBIS agents are sociopathic loose cannons. So they don’t exactly get along.

Of course, just because they don’t like each other doesn’t mean they can’t play mind games on each other. Or sleep together. But when an explosion at Mark’s apartment sends Quinn to the morgue to ID a body, he has to reevaluate his position on denial.

My View
The best thing about this book is Mark Vincent and Quinton Mann, they have something that makes reading M/M Romance stories worthwhile – chemistry.  It may start off as a frenemy sort of relationship, or maybe it’s more like a business rivalry, but they soon discover that the chemistry between them is stronger than all of deceit, trickery and subterfuge a secret agent can muster.

As the story progresses I love how the author takes me into each characters thoughts and experiences. Although it took me a while to get used to the narrative style at the beginning, but once I did I was able to really enjoy getting to know the characters more intimately.

Another really entertaining aspect to this book is the humor each man possesses and how even though Mark and Quinn are quite different from one another they both suit each other perfectly.  They are sexy and they are fun, and I can easily see the two of them becoming one of my favorite M/M couples residing on my eReader. The two of them are like gasoline and a match – very combustible.

Tinnean is one of my favorite M/M Romance authors. I feel that she creates very endearing and memorable characters. I am really looking forward to reading this entire series. Because this first story definitely leaves some unfinished business between these two.

  1. I haven’t read this series yet but I’ve had my eye on it for a while. I love seeing chemistry between MC’s in the books I read so this definitely appeals to me.

  2. I’ve never read anything by this author. Sounds like it’s time to remedy that now. I like the sound of this series. Thanks so much for the review.
