Surviving Sin City by Ethan Stone and Daniel A. Kaine ~ review by Beverley

When the ‘Zombie Boyz’ Anthology broke up into three separate stories, I’m ashamed to say ‘Surviving Sin City’ was the only one I hadn’t read! I have happily rectified that situation and I’m extremely glad I did and below is what I discovered…SurvivingSinCity_ZB_cvr
Title: Surviving Sin City
Author:Ethan Stone and Daniel A. Kaine
Publisher: Wilde City Press
My Rating: 5 of 5 stars

Gather your friends and fight for the man you love, as Ethan Stone and Daniel A Kaine turn Vegas into a zombie nightmare in SURVIVING SIN CITY.

My View
Well ‘Surviving Sin City’ is a great story to have completed the trilogy in Zombie Boyz. Geoffrey Knight and Ethan Day gave us comedy, TJ Klune and Eric Arvin gave us anarchic humour, sex and tears. Ethan Stone and Daniel Kaine gave us a pure action, zombie story with the attraction you expect between the main characters in a blockbuster movie. ‘Kaleb’ is the Las Vegas local who discovers his Mother is now a zombie and ‘Coop’ is the slightly older Brit, holidaying in Las Vegas to give him perspective on his relationship and cheating boyfriend. Through various misadventures they end up together in all ways and very hot it is too. They race to get Coop to the airport, to fly to back to England and Kaleb to the Country Club, to save his brother. To find out if they succeed you will have to read this action packed and rather gory tale!

I really liked the writing in this tale and I could see this as a movie. The narrative is fast paced and allowing for the fact we are talking about a zombie apocalypse, very believable.

Ethan Stone has recently returned to Oregon after 12 years in Nevada and is working on re-growing his webbed feet. He has been obsessed with two things in his life: books and all things gay. After spending years trying to ignore the voices in his head, he finally decided to sit down and listen to them. What he discovered was a perfect union of his two obsessions.

Daniel A. Kaine At the beginning of 2013 I finally plucked up the courage to submit one of my books to Dreamspinner Press. After several weeks of anxiously waiting for a reply, I received my contract. On 26th August, No Angel was released; my very first novel with a publisher. Not only that, but I also signed a contract with Wilde City for the Zombie Boyz anthology. Hopefully that first step opens up the way for many more releases in the future.

I would like to thank Wilde City Press for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.

  1. A really good read. I had a lot of fun reading it and really hope that these two authors will team up for another one if the chance ever arises.

  2. Misadventures and action packed story sounds good to me. Not into bloody gore but these two writers would make the story good with it.
