My View

This book has 3 main characters, and each, it seems, has their own sad bit of history. It is a quick read that is not romantic, but more gritty and real life.

Tom has run away from home after spending years trying to protect his mother from his fathers fists and getting beaten for his trouble. He is currently living on the streets as best he can when he is found early one morning trying to protect his possessions by Eddie.
Eddie owns a small cafe in town and lives with his own demons and guilt. Initially, he left town and toured Iraq to get away from the memories but returned to run the business when his father died. He is kind hearted and friendly and offers Tom a job and somewhere to live.

When Tom joins the local Boxing and Martial Arts club just down the road from the cafe he effectively pushes Eddie to deal with his demons….the biggest one being the owner of the club Danny.

Danny and Eddie are old friends with a trauma in their past that haunts them. Immediately the sexual tension is visible between the two but neither man sees able to put the past behind them.

Danny and Eddie have to spend more time around each other as Tom spends more time at the Gym and becomes an integral link between the two men. When Tom suffers a family tragedy both men step up to support him and save him from himself.

There is a lot of emotion in this book as you watch Eddie and Danny struggle with their past and their feelings for each other. You just have to hope their love is strong enough to break down their pasts and finally give them some peace.
