Sex & Candy by Nico Jaye ~ Review by Brandilyn

This is my 3rd short story from Nico Jaye.  She is always good for a sweet hot time.

21248936Title: Sex & Candy

Author: Nico Jaye

Publisher: JMS Books

My Rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

From the Publisher:

Lee may be in a relationship with Tony, but that little fact doesn’t stop Lee when Tony agrees to allow him one wild night of no inhibitions. With excitement thrumming through his veins, Lee finds himself letting loose at Hard Candy, a popular cruise-worthy dance club known for its sweet Candymen and even sweeter one night stands. Under the club’s pulsing lights, he meets a mysterious man in leather, and things soon get hot and heavy as Lee rediscovers his submissive side under the Dom’s firm yet loving guidance.

When Lee returns home to Tony, though, will he face repercussions for his night of passion? Or is their relationship not quite as it appears?

My View

Lee and Tony met at a hotspot dance club, known as Candy, one year ago.  They have since settled into a life of domestic bliss.  Tony gives Lee one night at Candy to have a little fun…  This is a short, hot story, but there is an underlying sweetness I have come to expect from Jaye.  I have loved every one of her stories that I have had the pleasure of reading.  Sex and Candy is no exception.  Yes, there was an element of predictability inherent in the story, but it was well written and kept me turning the pages.

  1. I saw the title of the book reviewed and read it because it compared to a book with the same title I reviewed only to not recognise the description at all. After checking it turned out that while the title is the same the authors aren’t. While I understand that completely original titles are probably next to impossible to find I have to admit that it frustrates me when two books in the same genre, published in close proximity have the exact same title. It is easy enough for me to get confused about what I have and haven’t read without this added problem.

By the way, loved the review and will have to check out this version of ‘Sex and Candy’.

  2. Thanks for the review, Brandilyn! ♥ Smutty fluff (a.k.a. smuff) is my favorite to write. 😉

Helena, I totally understand. I’m not sure about the other author, but when I looked up the title “Sex and Candy” there was only one other book out there from 2012. Publishing takes a while and titles are chosen pretty early. It’s just complete coincidence that our two books were published with the same title so soon after each other. 🙂 If you give this one a shot, I hope you enjoy it!

Lirtle, thanks for checking it out – happy reading!

    • Yeah, sometimes it just happens that way. We actually reviewed the “other” Sex & Candy earlier this month. Completely different stories. You can only do so much due diligence.

Thanks for another fun read, Nico 🙂
