“I feel like I’ve been wearing blinders for my entire life and now they’ve been ripped off and everything’s too bright – too harsh. Part of me wants them back so I only have to see what’s right in front of me.” –Logan
After Logan Bradshaw’s dreams go up in smoke, he’s left broken and haunted by a cruel betrayal from his former business partner, a man he once thought of as a friend. His life as a professional escort helped pay for his future once, so maybe a few more jobs can give him back what he’s lost. And if that means being a third for one night for a wealthy couple living out a ménage fantasy, then so be it. It might just be the final payout he needs to get his life back on track.
Dominic Barretti has everything money can buy, but it can’t save his beautiful young wife as cancer steals her away from him. He also can’t deny her one last request – a ménage encounter with another man. It’s the perfect excuse to meet the man who’s been haunting his dreams. On paper, Logan is the perfect choice to give his wife what she needs, but he doesn’t expect his own fierce desires to flare up when the young man enters their lives.
Dom and Logan don’t know it, but Sylvie Barretti has decided to play matchmaker from beyond the grave. Unfortunately, getting two broken men to find each other makes dying seem like the easy part.
Logan can’t deny his attraction to Dom, but the surprise desire for another man has left him reeling and questioning everything he’s ever known about himself. But when a threat from the past surfaces, will Logan be able to let go of the life he knew and embrace the one he needs?
Note: This book contains M/M sexual content and is intended for mature audiences
***This is Book 3 in the series, but can be read as a stand-alone story – no cliffhangers. However, more enjoyment can be gained by reading the series in order:
Book 1 – Gabriel’s Rule
Book 2 – Shane’s Fall
(Note: Logan’s Need DOES contain spoilers for events first presented in Books 1 & 2)***
Until a couple of days ago I had never heard of Sloane Kennedy. Scrolling through my feed on GR I noticed that a couple of people I tend to have similar reading habits to were praising a book I hadn’t come across so I took the chance and sent a request in to review it. BEST decision this week!
Logan’s Need is book 3 in The Escort Series, the first two are MF and I haven’t read them yet, and it’s completely ok to read as a stand-alone. My intention was to start with Redeeming Rafe from the Barretti Security Series but as there is a crossover and some of the characters appear in both books I went with Logan’s story first. Between the two series there are four MM books and let me tell you I didn’t come up for air for a couple of days until I had devoured them all. It has been a while since a series of books had me so invested that I barely slept!
This book gave me my first introduction to the Barretti family and what a family they are. I’m not going to go into too much detail in this review as that will come in the following books but I will say a tragic event that happened 20 years ago is still having an impact and means the brothers are not altogether.
Logan Bradshaw has been working as a high class escort whilst bringing up his younger sister. When a friend and business partner commits the ultimate betrayal Logan’s life crashes down around his ears and when you add in that his sister and friends were keeping secrets Logan is not at his best. His latest job has him meeting a married couple, something he is not entirely comfortable with, but the money is good and there are clear limits. That one night with Sylvie and Dominic Barretti will change Logan’s life and make him question everything he ever thought about himself.
Dom’s wife Sylvie is dying and she is a very astute woman. She has never doubted her husband’s love but she does believe he kept a secret. Their night together with Logan confirms this and she becomes selfless in her task of making sure her husband carries on living even if she has to do it from the grave.
So what we have is a grieving husband, an escort that has only ever dated women and an attraction between them both that is uncontrollable. Besides trying to sort out sexuality there is grief, past hurt, present hurt, a murderer that has come back from the dead and two missing brothers! There is never a dull moment in this book and it sets things up nicely for the Barretti brothers to continue telling us their story.
I loved this book. I loved how this author told the story and as I have read the other three books already I really hope there will be more to follow soon!
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
