Charlie Cochet on Forgive and Forget ~ Guest Blog, Rafflecopter Giveaway

Prism Book Alliance® would like to thank Charlie Cochet for stopping by today.

Title: Forgive and Forget
Author: Charlie Cochet
Publisher: Dreamspinner Press
Cover Artist: Paul Richmond
Genre: Contemporary, Gay, M/M Romance

As the owner of Apple’n Pies, Joe Applin leads a quiet, uneventful life, content to spend his days serving customers who come from all over to eat his delicious homemade pies. Along with his motley crew—Bea, Elsie, and Donnie—Joe couldn’t be happier in his little kingdom of baked goods and java.

Experience has taught Joe that love is overrated—and at times dangerous. He has no intention of repeating past mistakes. But then he meets a mysterious, handsome man with amnesia, and Joe can’t deny something sweet is in the works. He isn’t one to take risks, not with his heart and certainly not with his life, but the more time he spends with the man he knows as Tom, the closer he is to losing both.

Charlie Cochet on Forgive and Forget

Hello all! Thank you for joining me on the third stop of the Forgive and Forget blog tour celebrating the upcoming release of my Dreamspun Desires title. In this story of a shy, sweet pie maker who finds a mysterious and handsome man with amnesia, food is heavily featured. Joe’s pie shop isn’t flashy or fancy by any means. It’s reminiscent of an old diner from back in the day, complete with old radio playing crooner songs like Dean Martin’s “Powder Your Face with Sunshine”.
People come from all over for Joe’s delicious homemade pies. Joe offers three different pies a day. On Mondays he has pecan, cranberry with apple, and blueberry. Tuesdays it’s apple, lemon meringue, and peach. Wednesdays it’s apple and cinnamon, coconut cream, and pear. Thursdays there’s cherry, chocolate cream, and blackberry. Fridays its lemon, banana cream, and peanut butter. Saturdays there’s caramel with pecan, strawberry, and key lime. Along with pie, Apple’n Pies sells some pastries, and the coffee is always hot, fresh, and almost as good as the pie.

Writing this book often left me craving pie. I love pie. Although I do occasionally indulge in cake, I’m more of a pie kind of gal. I admit I have a weakness for baked goods. For me, that’s the ultimate comfort food. Pastries, puffs, pies, paired with a nice latte, yes please! Next to the pies that Joe bakes, he has a weakness for fresh bread. I’m going to have to agree with Joe on that one. There’s nothing like the smell—and taste—of freshly baked bread.

What about you? What’s your favorite comfort food?

  1. Happy upcoming release, Charlie!
I loved reading books with chef, cook, and food mixed in with the romance! 😉 so I look forward to April 1st for release day; not April’s Fool!! 😛
Interesting blog tour as usual, Charlie. 🙂

  2. Can’t wait to read this one. Love books with chefs or bakers in them. Don’t know why, just enjoy them. My fav comfort food is cake and ice cream, anytime.

  3. Hi Charlie, I must admit I’m not a pie eater except maybe Lemon Meringue. My favourite comfort food would be warm Chocolate fudge cake and Vanilla Ice cream.

  4. Thanks for the post! Unfortunately for my waistline, I have a lot of comforts foods. 😉 But, I think pizza is one of my favs for everyday and Pernil for special occasions.

  5. Congrats on your upcoming release! Not long now! I love the blurb! 😀
My favourite comfort food… That’s tough… Maybe profiteroles. Chocolate ones. Or cookies. Or mayb- Oh man, now I’m hungry! ;”’)

  6. Congrats on the new release, can’t wait to check it out! My favorite comfort food is definitely macaroni and cheese, honestly it’s my favorite food in general! 🙂

  7. Congratulations on the new release, Charlie! My favourite comfort food is … ginger biscuits. Specially those with dark chocolate… a nice Earl Grey Cream tea and a couple of biscuits and I always feel better! 😉

  8. Can I count chips as comfort food? *LOL* I just like to munch my way towards chips or popcorn and I always feel better. I am not a sweet tooth person so I rarely eat chocolate or sweet cakes. Too sweet and I get headaches instead.

  9. Looking forward to getting my copy tomorrow! I’m not entirely sure what my favorite comfort food is since I love so many – could be mac & cheese, could be mashed potatoes & gravy, could be chocolate. I really think it just depends on what I’m craving at the time.

  10. I think i’d say that my Mom’s homemade beef stew is my favorite comfort food. Thanks for the opportunity to win.

  11. I guess anything greasy, salty or sweet would count as comfort food for me, I’m really not picky (in that field…) 😉
    Tahnks for the giveaway

  12. Congratulations on the new release! I have it loaded on my kindle.

My favorite food is Swiss Almond Vanilla ice cream or a Strawberry freeze made with Strawberry ice cream and lemon-lime soda.
