All he has is his best friend and the center of the jock’s interest, the beautiful Kylie Bursnell. But Kylie is not your typical beauty. She hates the jocks even more than Kyle, especially Lucas Edward Johnson, a jock who is madly in love with her and Kyle’s forbidden dream. After a bizarre and freaky night, they swap bodies and are force to live each other’s live. Can this actually be true? Has Kyle’s dream come true? The one thing that his soul and body need. After a late night out with his best friend, Kevin, Brad sees one of the most beautiful guys he has ever laid eyes on. The Lake View Psychopath
Jocks beware, he’s here and he’s not scared. Ashton Hall hates his existence at Lake View High. The jocks have made his life a living hell and his friends have completely turned their backs on him. Why? For being gay and dating the love of his life, Austin Young. Almost overnight, they became the center of every joke and every bully’s paradise. To make matters worse, even the school’s coach allows his ‘jock superstars’ to make fun of them.
But everything the night Austin Young is brutally murdered by the jocks and they walk free. Something snaps inside Ashton’s head and the only think he can think of is revenge. Will Ashton come to his sense and let Austin go? Or will he become one of the greatest serial killers of all time?
Who is my favorite author? And why?
There are millions of authors out there, but only a few make it big or inspire someone to take up writing as their career and passion. Many of my fans have asked me the same question over and over again. Who is my favorite author and why? This is a very difficult question considering the fact that I’m a huge fan of several authors and their amazing work. But if I have to chose, I would say the amazing J.K. Rowling and the incredible Jeff Erno. Each different, yet they have both touched and inspired me in their own special way.
Who is not a fan of the boy who lived? I think he’s one of the most famous literary characters of all time! Everyone that I know have seen or heard about the Harry Potter movies or read one of the seven novels that J.K. Rowling masterfully penned down a few years ago. If you haven’t, chances are that you’ve been living under a rock all these years. The first time I read a Harry Potter novel was back in 2003. Now let me tell you something, I was hooked instantly. Harry and his friends pulled me into a magical world, leaving me wanting more. I read all of the books as they hit the store until the last one came out in 2007. The last novel blew my mind away so much that it inspired me to write Raven and Crow: a Chain of Memories. Raven and Crow: a Chain of Memories tells the story of two guys who meet in high school and find out that they have more in common than they thought since they share the same memories, dreams and nightmares. Soon enough they discover that they are the reincarnation of the beautiful Raven and the amazing Crow. You might be wondering how a man and a woman are reborn as two males? Not much of a Twilight novel, right? True, but let the story flow and you’ll see that life is just a big illusion. This novel is not out yet, but I’m hoping and praying that I find the right publishing house for it. However, J.K. Rowling is not the only one that have inspired me to write.
The first GLBT novel that I read was Mark A. Roeder, A Better Place. That novel contains a jock/nerd theme and it made me fall in love with that genre of writing. I immediately searched for other novels with the same theme and came across Dumb Jock by Jeff Erno. That little novel changed my life forever. I connected so much with the main character that I just had to write something similar to Mr. Erno’s inspirational work. The product of my sleepless night was Surviving Elite High. Surviving Elite High chronicles the life of John Henry Ames, a gay sixteen-year-old boy, as he makes his way through life as an outcast in the shadows of an elite high school where he is tormented by two psychopathic bullies. After befriending the most popular jock in school, his young life changes forever. Their friendship blossoms and John discovers a side of the jock that no one knew. This novel has everything in it, friendship, love, bullies, and even a school shooting. School violence is very serious topic these days and I felt like I need to tackle that issue in my debut work. This novel was republished on February 19, 2013 under Ai Press. There is a sequel called Surviving Elite High: Senior Year, a short spinoff called, Surviving Elite High: Loving James and two more sequels in the work that will take place twenty years after the events of Surviving Elite High: Senior Year. I’m working hard on them and I’ll let you know when they’ll be out.
All in all, these two amazing authors changed my life forever. If I would have never read their work, I wouldn’t be writing this blog write now and my stories would have remained in my head until the end of time. I would like to thank them for inspiring me and I hope that they continue doing what they love and inspiring others to follow in their footsteps. If you want to be a writer, this is my advice to you. The journey will be long, tedious and hard. But remember, ‘a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step’. You’ll get there eventually. Just keep a positive mind and attitude and aim for the stars because you might just end up on the moon like me.
