Motocross star, Beckett Monroe, is in need of some serious R&R. Not only to adjust to his new out-of-the-closet status, but in hopes of reigniting his passion for motocross. To his surprise, support shows up in the way of Christian Foster, his childhood best friend and first love. Spending time with Christian is the jumpstart Beck’s heart needs. But even if Christian can forgive Beckett for hurting him years ago, do they stand a chance against all the obstacles in their path?
A Crossroads Novella.
Book four in the Crossroads series is short and sweet and is about second chances and reconnecting with your past. Christian and Beckett are both new to the series but Beckett’s friendship with Landon means we get to spend time with the old gang too.
Beck turned his back on his friendship and feelings for his best friend Christian a decade ago for a number of reasons – pressure to succeed in his sport, duty to his parents who had sacrificed a lot to get him to where he was and fear of how other people would react. Ten years later and Beckett has had a huge success in his motocross career but he is lonely and frustrated so he strategically outs himself to the world. He heads for Virginia for some downtime with his friend Landon and to lick his wounds, he also reaches out to Christian for the first time in forever and it seems both men are ready to fix their broken friendship.
In such a short book it would have been very easy for Riley to give them back an instant relationship and make everything better but that’s not how it works. Riley gives us the feels, the words and the emotion between the two men that of course ends up in some sexy time but they have to work for it and open up some old wounds in order to heal and move on. This was an all too quick dip back into one of my favourite series and fans of Riley and Crossroads are going to love it.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
