I reviewed this one when it was first published in the “Cabin for Two” Anthology. Here is my original view.
This was a tale of two friends finally getting their heads out of their asses and realizing they should be together. It shows what lack of communication can lead to. I loved that the author included backstory and relationship development in such a short story. The ending was good in that it was a HFN with the promise of continuing development into a HEA.
Listening to this one again two years later has not changed my opinion. This author is one of my favorites. She may not give me a HEA everytime but I KNOW that whatever she gives me will be well written and fully developed. For such a short story this one ran me through the emotional gamut from annoyance to happiness to frustration to relief. I loved this tale and would not say no to seeing these men in another story in the future.
Michael Pauley did a good job on this one. His voice was appropriate for the characters and his style complimented the story. I enjoyed this one as an ebook and enjoyed it again in audio thanks to Pauley bringing this to life.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the audiobook of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
