Struck by amnesia after a car crash, Brian Stouten has been living a life laid out by his family, a heterosexual life that just doesn’t fit. When he learns it was all a lie, he returns to the small college town that’s his only clue to his past. But the town is still unfamiliar, and the man he’d hoped would make all his memories return is on a honeymoon with another man. To add insult to injury, everyone thinks Brian died in the crash. It’s only when an out-of-place cowboy asks to bum a smoke that Brian realizes this trip was meant to be.
Sylvester Thomas has always fought a secret desire, and done it successfully. But when geeky Brian offers him a smoke and a light, a simple brush of hands has Sylvester’s hidden passions burning deep. Did he make a mistake letting Brian walk away?
I have loved this series from book 1. The author’s writing style is flawlessly intense and beautiful. The emotions are always at the forefront and the romance is star of the show. The Rodeo Knight continued that trend giving the reader another story full of hard emotion followed up by love and happiness. For some, this story will feel rushed and lacking in development, because, in some ways it was. But for me, I didn’t care. I got swept up into the hurt and pain and healing and romance of it all. I loved Brian, but I LOVED Sylvester. He stole my heart and his happy ending made me cry. I didn’t care that this romance was rushed and very instant. I got swept up in the over the top romance and loved every minute of the journey. I would not say no to another book in this series from Russ and Justin’s POV to see how they dealt with Brian coming back from the dead, nor would I say no to another book years down the road showing me how all these broken men are healing. I also want to see Brain’s parents in jail for what they did.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
