Son of Cleopatra and Julius Caesar, Sasha is the king of kings. He’s the pharaoh, and he’s supposed to be the most powerful man in Egypt, but he’s convinced there’s something wrong with him. Maybe he’s in heat or maybe he’s just cursed, but no pharaoh should have such an insatiable need to be mated by another man. Even worse, the man he desires has never shown an inkling of interest in him.
When the young pharaoh finds himself the sole ruler of Egypt and under siege by the Romans, he has to find a way to deal with the desires consuming him or all will be lost.
*Historically inspired dark erotica. Contains graphic violence and non-con.
Oh my, J. Johanis certainly writes awesome dark and erotic tales. I really enjoyed her Toy Soldiers series so I jumped at the chance to read this story.
This one is historical fiction featuring Sasha, the son of Julius Caesar and Cleopatra. He’s desperate, obsessed even, with being mated and he feels its wrong. It’s not normal for a Pharoah to crave being taken so forcefully but he can’t get his mind off it. He’s also secretly in love with his bodyguard Adrian who feels the same but neither one feels they can admit it.
There’s a battle beginning around Sasha and he feels like he’s left with little choice but to claim a mate. Unfortunately, the wrong man wins the battle. That doesn’t mean either Adrian or Sasha will give up.
There’s graphic violence and rape/non con in here so if this isn’t your thing then avoid it. However, if you like that sort of stuff like I do then you’ll love this story. It’s beautifully written with strong characters, a solid plot and just the right amount of world building.
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
