Sequel to Smoke & Mirrors
In a matter of days, Dex has been kidnapped, tortured, killed, revived, become half Therian, offered the chance to become a spy, and accepted a proposal to marry his jaguar Therian boyfriend, Sloane Brodie. It’s been a lot to take in, and although Dex is still trying to wrap his head around everything that’s happened, he knows he has to move forward.
After the events of Smoke & Mirrors, Dex and Sloane find themselves in one of the most frightening situations of all: revealing the truth to their Destructive Delta family. When the dust settles, nothing will ever be the same, and it’s up to Dex to prove that in the face of change, the one thing that will always remain the same is family.
Thick & Thin follows on immediately from Smoke & Mirrors and gives us an all too short glimpse at what is happening to Destructive Delta now that Dex is no longer human and the team is being broken up.
This is a huge reminder that these guys are family first and there are some tough conversations that need to take place. Dex and Sloane are great together, as they always are, but they have their work cut out working out who to trust and how to tell everyone important to them just what has happened in the last few days.
This definitely felt like it was setting things up for the rest of the series and for some pretty big changes. It was a bit like a chess game where Charlie was getting all her pieces in place and I am very excited to see where the series goes in 2017!
I would like to thank the publisher for providing me with the eARC of this title in exchange for my honest opinion.
